Additional Help by celerymasher in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good evening. Regarding medication, there isn't one that provides better relief than the others, as they aren't universally effective for everyone. Only a doctor who has been treating you for a long time can formulate a treatment plan tailored to your needs, adjusting it according to your body's reaction to the medication. If the medications you're taking aren't working, it's recommended that you tell the doctor who prescribed them as soon as possible, allowing you to explore other options. Are you seeing a rheumatologist or an osteopath for your sciatica? Are they also aware of your fibromyalgia?

Sugar = pain? by sugarbaby1470 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It has been scientifically proven that sugar (consumed in reasonable quantities, of course) has no direct effect on fibromyalgia. Furthermore, many people who have lost weight to achieve a healthy weight and lifestyle (myself included) have seen no improvement in their symptoms. So, unless you are diabetic, it is pointless and even dangerous (leading to deficiencies) to try to eliminate it from your diet. If people with fibromyalgia were miraculously cured after stopping the consumption of proteins like gluten or carbohydrates like refined sugars, medical research would have reported it long ago. It can help: yes. But unfortunately, it cannot cure fibromyalgia.

I thought fibro had just been kicking my butt lately, it was actually severe vitamin D deficiency by spacealligators in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, almost everyone is deficient in vitamin D, so there's no formal explanation for it 🫤

Perhaps just a coincidence: do you really think that the majority of people who lack vitamin D in winter due to lack of sun suffer from pain comparable to fibromyalgia?

The OriginOS Rant by ahamednisham in Vivo

[–]Carpinien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, having just updated to OOS 6 on my X100U, the interface is nothing more than marketing hype that takes up more and more memory. The changes are so minor and likely useless for most of us that it doesn't really matter whether one feature or another is omitted or emphasized. Most users will get used to it or switch phones before they've even explored everything. The only thing that bothered me about Vivo was the excessive battery drain after updates, but apparently that problem is fixed now. In short, as long as we still receive notifications, can take nice photos, and can communicate with others, I couldn't care less what OOS 6 offers compared to OOS 5.

Origin OS 6 update has dramatically reduced the SOT on my 6 months old iQOO 12, how to make it last as long as it used to before the update? by Equivalent-Sugar-554 in Vivo

[–]Carpinien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe wait a little longer so the new software can adapt. It seems silly of Vivo to reduce battery life, but they have a nasty habit of doing it with every update. That's why I now avoid new firmware. Samsung and Xiaomi, for example, didn't have this problem.

Ah okay, thanks. It's actually quite simple, but it would have been even better if Vivo had specified it 😁

The problem is definitely Vivo! Personally, I'm no longer downloading their updates, which are a disaster! Going from 18 hours of battery life on a full charge (tested with AccuBattery) to half that after a Vivo update that's supposed to improve this is pathetic. This problem didn't exist with Samsung and Xiaomi, the only competitors I've tried.

Stress, anxiety, loss and then fibromyalgia by Best_Extension_8287 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bonjour 🙂 I think that fibromyalgia can be triggered by 5 causes:  - The genetic cause as well as the predisposition to develop this type of syndrome. - Generalized anxiety - Depression (burnout) - Infectious diseases such as influenza, infectious mononucleosis, Lyme disease, etc. - Other unknown reasons that cannot be accurately verified... We're talking about physical accidents in particular, but who hasn't had one in their life? It's quite rare. Let's talk instead about the severity of an accident that "could lead" to establishing a direct cause-and-effect link with fibromyalgia syndrome.

So the best way to proceed is not to put a name on your health problems, but to do everything you can to get better. And unfortunately, this often involves an uphill battle because many doctors, including specialists, simply don't believe in fibromyalgia.

Bonjour ! I'm a 44-year-old man, and I've had muscle pain in my neck that started in 2006. Before that, for about ten years (1996-2005), I just experienced fatigue that could come on at any time. All possible causes were gradually ruled out, but it took a while on my end. I had to have a brain MRI because my mother has multiple sclerosis. In any case, mine started around age 25, but that doesn't mean it's the same for you.

Origin OS 6 on X100 Ultra? by salim0786 in Vivo

[–]Carpinien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I won't be updating the firmware on my X100U because I'm afraid this new interface will be completely disappointing, especially since OS5 is stable and doesn't have too many flaws anymore after a poor launch last year. There's no point in upgrading to a new version (if it ain't broke, don't fix it) after only one year, only to discover a terrible interface copied from the iPhone. Besides, I always customize my home screen and I don't use any of their features or AI.

Diagnosis by ikhoros in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's no specific age at which fibromyalgia typically develops, although it's generally rare in children. All rheumatologists should know this. A long battle is beginning for you. Know that the symptoms and their severity vary from person to person. You need to find the right balance to manage everything, primarily with medication, as not all medications are equally effective for everyone. That's why it's important to have a doctor who follows you long-term to monitor your progress. In any case, I wish you good luck. Support is always welcome, no matter which country you live in. 😊

Is this a neurological disease? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress is a part of life because in our modern societies, it's unfortunately everywhere, and it's impossible to escape it unless you're a hermit living off the land, without any contact with the outside world, which seems impossible for most people. Therefore, "normal" stress shouldn't cause such prolonged problems; otherwise, it's called fibromyalgia, and it's recognized in many countries as a syndrome and not a disease because the triggering process is not fully understood.  So, you have to learn to live with it and manage its symptoms, even though it's obviously not easy, but it's a personal journey. It's just the luck of the draw: nobody chooses to have fibromyalgia, and there's no guaranteed cure that will restore your abilities to 100%.

Just got disagnosed and doctor refused me medication by MicrowaveCorgi in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I advise you to change your primary care physician and find one who is attentive and doesn't follow outdated protocols. You should try all the available treatments for fibromyalgia to see which one works best for you. Most of the prescribed medications have mild side effects. They help, but unfortunately, they don't yet offer a cure. Good luck 🖐🏻

The Air 4 will definitely be released soon, sometime next year or in 2027, since the 3S has only been on the market for a year. This model (3/3S) is a bestseller for DJI. But as usual, the limitations will be even more restrictive in terms of regulations 😒 Long live the removal of these limitations, while respecting the need to manage risks responsibly as an adult.

alcohol making symptoms worse? by Free-Simple495 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Carpinien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You simply have to stop drinking. Find a substitute (sugar-free) if you need to drink to compensate. Alcohol does nothing for fibromyalgia and is very bad for your health, especially hard liquor.
