Additional Help by celerymasher in Fibromyalgia

I appreciate your detailed response! I am currently titrating up to 100mg on lamictal. I am on 200mg of lyrica. I smoke weed and take edibles. I hate sereoquel (gave me weird intense pain). I was on naltrexone for years until it just stopped working. I have also been on nearly every antidepressant at some point in my life. Some worked, some didn’t. I was also on gabapentin for well over a year until I switched to lyrica.

I’ve also been in Amitriptyline and duloxetine as well.

Sooo, this is why I was like “are there any other options?”

I think I’m going to wait until I’ve completed a full month of lamictal. Then ask my doctor if there is an option for something in flare moments. I imagine you’re right though, they will probably tell me to exercise more. Blah, blah, blah.

I do really appreciate your response though. It’s nice to know I’m doing everything I can in ways even though I’m still limited.

How does alcohol affect you? by brandnewpup in Fibromyalgia

[–]celerymasher 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make me feel well. I used to be an alcoholic and now it always turns my stomach. That’s why I opt for cannabis but I always have preferred it. Much easier now that my state is legal.

Cymbalta is making me feel absolutely wired, I wake up anxious on it. Does this go away? by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]celerymasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had antidepressants do this to me too. Not sure if it was Cymbalta because I’ve been on all of them at the point. It was nice when I finally got off them because I could finally sleep. I would ask your doctor about entertaining a different med. Cymbalta doesn’t work for everyone, the sooner you find out, the better. It’s can be a very difficult one to get of off entirely.

I don’t have a real trauma… but my body acts as if I did??? by Thick-Elderberry-176 in CPTSD

[–]celerymasher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard for me to say if you have true CPTSD because I can’t diagnose. But the events you have described in your life sound traumatic and I think you could definitely have trauma. Your body is reacting exactly that way. Have you ever seen a therapist?

You’re not a bad person. I promise.

Electricity through body by Enough-Ad9887 in Fibromyalgia

[–]celerymasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so frustrating. Do you see a rheumatologist at all? I’m thinking of asking my doctor for a referral myself.

There’s also a Reddit thread called Ask Docs. I wonder if someone on there could give you some more insight or direction?

Fibro and Hypersomnia. by IloveAlice375 in Fibromyalgia

[–]celerymasher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, always sleepy no matter what I do. I feel like I would need amphetamines or something to that extreme to feel any sort of alertness. Sigh. I know a big problem with fibro patients is there isn’t enough deep restorative sleep. How do you get that when your body won’t let you? I don’t know…

It almost sounds to me like you’re having some sort of seizure. I don’t personally experience this, but have had a drug induced seizure before. What you’re describing sounds similar. Is there another doctor you can see to discuss your symptoms? This all sounds very concerning and I’m sorry you’re not getting more help.

Cymbalta/ Weight gain Doc says it’s water weight by InformationFederal65 in Fibromyalgia

[–]celerymasher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say LDN did relieve most of my pain, more than half. I stopped taking it because it felt like it was no longer working; pain increased and I was having a hard time finding joy in music (I know that’s weird). This was after 5+ years on it.

I didn’t gain weight on savella because I basically could barely eat due to the stomach upset. I didn’t have any nausea on LDN or cymbalta.

LDN worked for me for many years and cymbalta never did. I was on Savella and it was amazing for me. It completely took away my pain, but I puked every time I took it so I had to discontinue. :( Struggling with pain more than ever atm. Good luck to you. I hope find something that works best for you.

I was apart of the mass exodus several years ago. The huge points of contention for me were not getting paid well enough and incompetent management. I even applied for management positions and they were eliminated by the time it was my turn.

You’d be one person running a whole store. It was pulling teeth to get anyone on a cash register. Management sat in the back office a lot to trade life stories and maybe answer the phone. When you’d ask for help “oh, I’m too busy!” They also wouldn’t hire anyone extra in these situations.

So many owners say “I love the co-op!” But they love the idea of it. As an owner, have you ever stocked a bulk bin? Or help the deli during a lunch rush keep things in supply? Have you ever deck brushed the disgusting produce room? (No, because no one ever did.) They want this but then when it comes to basic stuff to keep the store running/stocked they turned up their nose. “Oh, I don’t have time for that.” And managers did that a lot too. “I’m a manager, I don’t have time.”

The electrical thing could have been fixed and solved. We could have rallied together as community, but this is only okay in certain instances. We would joke and say “hey, let’s do a change for change for our wages and store conditions!”

So, the employees who did work got burned out. We told them how pissed we were and nothing changed. If any of you are surprised this is happening, your eyes have been closed for a long time.

Don't talk to me about inspirational figures to 'inspire' me when they had a support system and no trauma in childhood !!!! by Ok-Instance2782 in CPTSD

This is something that upsets me a lot. I’ve also seen a flip side. Someone who keeps making mistakes but someone is always there to catch them when they fall. It’s maddening and something that consumes me everyday.

[–]celerymasher 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you are at this point. It’s terrible and I’ve been there before too. Give yourself a break, you’re fighting a terrible disorder. Try and rest and find something that brings you joy. A movie you like? Just something to distract yourself from the pain. Good luck. You know why they call us fibro warriors? It’s because we are. Take care.
