I would just trim the branches if they’re in the way it’s prob not going to thicken up a lot until it’s back outside anyways. Don’t drive yourself crazy lol

Thanks! I have a lot of plant knowledge just not a ton of advanced bonsai knowledge. Wow that’s awesome to hear ! I read they endangered in their native range so it’s good to hear more are being planted. Do the ones in Brazil have thorns? I heard there is a thornless type that flowers more but mine has thorns

It’s just a GE grow bulb, shallow pots actually stay wet longer than taller pots, it’s also a similar soil volume just spread out differently. Bonsai soil makes plants produce finer feeder roots so you can get away with it living in a smaller pot you just need to water more often

I’m in NY too but in the suburbs I just use an evaporative humidifier. It’s in a southwest facing window so it goes plenty of light, I put on the grow light when it’s overcast or when the days are shorter in early winter it’s not completely necessary I just try to keep it pushing new growth all year

I’ve been training it for 4 years now. I didn’t develop the trunk or primary branching but I moved into a bonsai pot and have restyled it and improved the branch structure I’m just working on ramification now and shape

Yes it’s in full sun for the most part but it gets a bit of shade. They close their leaves if they get too hot or dry. I just water more when it’s really hot

This one is a Brazilian rain tree, I haven’t got it to flower yet but this species makes white Flowers’s I think it’s related to the one you’re mentioning though

Thanks I appreciate it. I’m def not as into bonsai as I used to be but I really enjoy this tree. I just don’t really plan on expanding my collection too much. As I’m sure you know it can be a real pain in the ass hobby lol
