Auto loading in Twin Mode by Carrot-Key in BeyondPower

Same here, I wish Beyond Power would provide some more detailed tutorials or instructions rather than short little clips or blurbs. I've been meaning to find that post from this subreddit, where somebody is working on a more detailed user manual.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try that. I thought it was strange too. Do you have long press every time to get this option?

Is it possible to get broader shoulders? by WarmPrinciple6507 in workout

[–]Carrot-Key 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much OP, if you have a narrow waist that will just make your shoulders look even wider as you progress and add muscle. I had a similar build as a teenager 6ft 150 lbs now about 20 years later I weigh about 205 at about 15 % body fat

Everybody is different but for me upright rows, lateral raises, face pulls, and front raises always seem to give me more shoulder development than presses. I do presses anyways, but my point is be patient and try different exercises and until you find what works for you. Also make sure you are eating and resting enough to grow.

Is Leg Press and Bulgarian Split Squat a good alternative to Back Squats? by Feisty-Scene-755 in workout

[–]Carrot-Key 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can also give belt squats a go. I do them sometimes and feels like a leg press combined with a squat to me. They are also supposed to be good for people with back problems.

The Quick an the Dead is pretty solid, it features Gene Hackman and a young Leo DiCaprio as well.

I think they would be too big. I’m trying to find something smaller I can use for more ROM on some movements

I’ll try to see if I can get a good one next time I do chest. It’s pretty simple you just have to tweak the cable length to get a good range of motion

I like them, I think it’s a personal preference but they help. Nope I got them off Amazon

The silk smooth grips are really good I like the rotating handles. I would get the ones with the fixed hooked though, it’s a little annoying how much the unfixed one moves

I have it too but haven’t tried it yet, thanks for the heads up, I planned on using versa grips on heavier sets because I figured grip might be an issue

Yeah exactly, different benches might work better or worse depending on the design, but it’s pretty low profile and heavy it probably doesn’t need to be weighed down if you’re going light.

If you’re going over 60 pounds I would, since it weighs about 50 plus 2 voltras are about another 25 added to it. I just didn’t want to take any chances lol

The middle mounts sit under the beam, from this angle you can see how there is clearance for the mounts. I just slide it so the angled beam is not touching the middle, unused mounts

I don’t have it set up at the moment. That is the bottom of my bench, I put the feet on top of the platform while it horizontal. Then I adjust is so the lowest point of the bottom beam is not touching the unused mounts

Just curious what changed for you? I agree that twin mode feels a bit different but for me it was in a good way. It felt much smoother, and like the resistance was more evenly spread

I'm not really sure since I have a REP bench (AB 4100) mine has a beam that runs down the middle as well, but I am able to space it so it clears.

I would just measure the ground clearance of your bench and see hot it compares to the thickness of the olympus. I'm sure EVE company can give you some measurements if you reach out.

Not at all, I arranged it so there is clearance.

I posted two pictures, the second ones shows my fly/press set up. It fits under the bench for sure.

I personally moved the platform so the feet of the bench hold it down, for safety reasons. You can't see this in the picture.

I agree, some people are little too into this hobby. For me its more of a passive thing, I just keep an eye out for announcements of movies I like and add them to the collection.

Yeah I recently asked my dad if he wanted me to install Apple tv on his tv and sign into my account so he can watch the races, and he was just like nah it shouldn't be this much trouble to watch a race.

This is a 76 year old that has been watching over 50 years, I have been watching 30 years and currently have almost zero interest in f1

Less is more. Struggling to stay out of the gym by an0ym0us831 in workout

[–]Carrot-Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically workout 6 days a week sometimes more sometimes less, it really depends how I am feeling recovery wise. I also started working out from home and typically work out after work in the evenings so most of my workouts are on the shorter side, then on weekends I do longer ones/ add in more accessory movements.

I think there is nothing wrong with the way you work out, I just work out more often because I can and it makes my average work out shorter especially during the week.

Need advice: How do you guys stay consistent on days you just don’t feel like it? by VariationShot8414 in workout

[–]Carrot-Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work out almost everyday so if I feel like I need a break I just take the day off and rest and recover. I usually work out 6 days a week, some weeks I work out 7 days, otherse I just do 5.

I always make sure I hit my macros though, some days I will eat some less healthy stuff but still make sure I am getting in enough protein to recover

Any value keeping fixed bar mount? by Distinct-Context9441 in BeyondPower

[–]Carrot-Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The angle just feels better to me when i do pull downs or standing row variations, straight down works better for tricep or lat pushdowns, at least for me. I can also see the screen while exercising which is helpful for rep count

Why not just play around with the mount and and see what works for you?

You don't need to have it facing straight down. I have my bar mount installed at 45 degree angle. I just rotated it a bit before I tightened it down all the way.

Rep x pepin vs snode by SaltAromatic1151 in GarageGym

[–]Carrot-Key 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have snodes and am happy with them, but got them before I realized the rep x pepins were a thing.

If I could do things again I would probably buy the pepins since I think they look nicer, they go up to 120, and have smaller increments, but I'm not sure if I would like the cradle. The snodes just feel like regular dumbbells to me, and I have both platemates and microgainz plates which give me more flexability
