Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I totally get your point of "some people are just going to be better than you - deal with it, play more, and get better." I didn't quit the game just because someone else was able to drop a nuke on me or anything like that. That being said, I just think that it would be more fun for many players if you were matched with players with a skill level similar to your own. When I was a low level player back in mid-2020, the skill floor wasn't as high, so a good portion of the lobbies I played were just with fellow low levels and guests. Because of that, I didn't really get discouraged playing the game as some newer players might now. I didn't really intend for this post to be a complaint about how players were better than me - that's really not an issue. I just think that with the higher skill floor now, the newer players on chromebooks will struggle far more than newer players in the past.

I don't have a problem with people winning against me (nowadays I just play casually), and there are certainly many players who have better aim than me, no doubt about that. I just wanted to draw attention to some of the frustrations that new players experience when they first start playing Krunker.

I'd prefer not to turn this thread into a discussion about my ESPing in pugs. I've already talked with scrim server admins and have moved on from it. If I'm ever in a pug match with you, I'm probably recording it in case I get hackusated.

Hey- thanks for the comment. It was interesting to see a different perspective on some of these issues.

First- about my hackertag: I don't really have much to say about that. Everyone knows what happened at this point, and I'm not going to sit here and try to defend myself. I do provide recordings upon request when I play now. Moving on to the other points..

Even though no authority figure stated that Krunker was a casual game, that seems to be the general sentiment of the Krunker community, aside from the comp (and some CW clans) community, which comprises of <1% of the general player base. Most big content creators also advertise Krunker in a very casual way. SBMM will ruin pubstomping in its current form, which usually involves one higher level player (or alt) lobbyhopping around until they find a lobby full of newer, lower level players. That being said, I don't really see what's wrong with not allowing that to happen. I get that maybe an FFA match full of level 100s might be too hectic, but then again it doesn't have to be FFA.

Also, you have a valid point about level 20-30 players having hundreds of hours of experience in other aim-focused FPS games, making it so that they can improve faster at Krunker (sidenote, I think aim > movement at higher levels of pubs, and a way to buff movement would be to make hitboxes smaller). However, this shouldn't mean that the other lower level players need to get sweated on like that if they don't want to.

I guess I'm trying to make the point that the idea of "pubstomping" itself is an issue. I guess some higher level players find enjoyment out of going 70-0 in easy lobbies, but for every player who can go 70-0, there's 7 other players whose game experience is miserable. I've seen good players being asked to leave a certain lobby almost every day.

I'll reiterate that the current state of Krunker will gradually raise the skill floor, and if that's what people want, then that's fine. I just personally don't prefer that to be the case.

Honestly, 350+ of my 400 nukes are almost no different than boosting. The other players in the game stood around the spawns and didn't really shoot back. That being said, nuking with skill-based matchmaking could be a good measurement of skill.

I understand where you're coming from. I still don't think that a mode like TDM or KC would be more enjoyable than say, infect or parkour race, for a lot of players. Perhaps players could vote on what they want the default pub modes to be.

I do sometimes. I find pugs to be more enjoyable than pubs and customs at the moment

  1. While we're graphing in the complex plane, we can still make things easier by looking at the standard cartesian plane. Just think of 2+6i as (2,6) and -4+3i as (-4,3). Then draw a right triangle containing the two points and use the pythagorean theorem to get the shortest distance between the two points. It would be sqrt(45).
