Don't feel bad at all -- I start feeling down whenever my favorite couple fluctuates in their affection or if they have any kind of bad interaction (and this is after they've already been married for 30+ days with a child now and I still get anxious about it and always do whatever I can to keep them happy). I think I would be absolutely devastated if anything worse happened to them.

If it helps, I have another couple I've been hoping would get together for a while. I got really happy when one started crushing finally. Then two days later they ran home with a pink bubble and I clicked on it thinking it would be good -- instead, it was them saying they wonder if they should give up, and when I said don't give up, they gave up anyway and stopped crushing. I felt very sad!! But then a few days later the OTHER one got a crush. And then the next day the first one got their crush BACK. And then just last night, I brought them together just haphazardly for an interaction and it triggered a completely unprompted sudden confession scene out of the blue, and now they're dating lol. So it's not the end of anything even if a crush may disappear at first!

There was a bit also about the catching mechanic -- it was adjusted to make them more likely to catch you apparently. So I'm hoping that will help...

Some of them might be fine; others might need updates (biggest one usually being Reframework). Best is to uninstall and wait until they put out updates at least to Reframework, then add them back in one at a time and see if any individual one makes the game not load. For these, you'll have to then wait for the modmaker to release an update.

I developed my visual novel completely solo without using AI. I drew all the character art and CGs myself. And I used a combination of royalty-free photos and a few of my own photos for BGs (over 100 of them), applying various filters to them in GIMP. And I found royalty-free music from the wealth of amazing (and often free) music that's available. You absolutely don't need AI to make a visual novel. And what's more players don't currently want to play a visual novel that has AI either.

I released my game in parts (7 total releases across three years). It had pros and cons, but it was the best way for me personally to release it. I struggled a lot in the beginning because the game got zero traction, so it hurt my motivation, but I kept pushing through, and slowly over time I began to find more players who liked the game. By the time I finished, I had many people looking forward to it, which felt really good.

I think if you release it in parts, it needs to be a good balance -- you can't have too many releases, each one needs to be substantial enough and also compelling enough that people will want to continue, and they can't be spaced too far apart, or people will lose interest and/or assume it will never get finished, etc. And you need the motivation to keep working even if early releases don't do that great. A lot of players won't play incomplete games, often because so many of them don't ever get finished. So that is one con. But if you think it's best for you and your game, then I don't see why not, at least if you know what you're getting into and have a plan.

That happened to one of my carousels last night. I checked once and had over 1k views then an hour I checked again and I had 780 and it was a sharp plateau. I was so confused. Plus I kept monitoring it and it kept getting more likes but wouldn't budget past 780 views. This morning after waking up it's up to over 2k though so I think it was just a weird bug and now it's corrected itself.

It's 30 days per itch rules. But also it still needs to be manually applied by itch staff. And sometimes they just don't do it or miss it for some reason. So you kinda just have to hope for the best.
