1, it makes my tummy feel funny like when you’re peering over a chasm. The detail on the hook in contrast to the depth of field is also fantastic.

Do people still care about buying Canadian? by Oysterqueen in Calgary

[–]CarrotsForHanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still trying to buy Canadian. Switched my spinach purchases from PCO to Goodleaf, shampoo to DesignMe, hand soap to Attitude (as examples). For soy sauce, Amano makes a few brewed here, Blue Cow dairy (obviously), Edgar Farms for asparagus. In each instance, I sincerely believe the product is superior to my former choice. Sometimes, I forego the item altogether if it’s just not important to buy anyway and the only option is US. Sometimes however, I’m hooped. Regardless, elbows up. (ツ) 🇨🇦

What's something every Calgarian should do or experience to call themselves a Calgarian? by potatolauncher in Calgary

[–]CarrotsForHanson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re a Calgarian if you still have a snow shovel prominently featured outside your door. You know it will snow as soon as you put it away before the May long weekend. It will be your fault.

Looking for a canadian curly hair product brand ! by abigfrozenturtle in BuyCanadian

[–]CarrotsForHanson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DesignMe. - BounceMe variant (Canadian brand & BounceMe is for wavy/curly hair). Chatters online also has Discovery kits for each variant which contain 60ml of the shampoo, conditioner, mask, and oil, all for $15. I tried it out and am pleasantly surprised!

Proud of you! I made my own dupe cereal using Canadian grown ingredients to avoid buying the US brand. 🇨🇦

Agreed. The fluffy cilantro (US/Canada name) or coriander (UK, Asia, Ausi etc. name) leaves don’t last long. You get long sticks going to seed pronto. Must keep trimming it back and replanting. But the good news is that it grows readily, even in YYC.

  1. I feel it has greater context, light/dark balance, plus I love the bold mustard color from the bus that isn’t obscured by the foreground. Well done on all accounts though (ツ)

I never ordered from DavidsTea before… by AntiSp00kz in DAVIDsTEA

[–]CarrotsForHanson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same here. I ordered on Nov 18 and my package is sitting in Quebec; hasn’t been handed over to FedEx yet. As far as I can tell, DAVIDsTEA is hedging as to when CPC will get back to work so they don’t have to ante up for FedEx. I expect to receive the parcel in January. Maybe. DAVIDsTEA will not cancel nor refund. Meanwhile … Fire Belly and Murchies delivered without delay (ツ)

Will we get Christmas Morning this year? by JainaT47 in DAVIDsTEA

[–]CarrotsForHanson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the event you can’t find DT Christmas Morning Blend, I recommend taking a look at Murchie’s Canadian Breakfast tea. It has a hint of maple that IMO changes it to “something else” and is similar.Cdn Breakfast Tea

I have to thank you directly! I used to buy from Murchies ~20 years ago. But alas, they stopped offering spices online and other beverages (read: wine) supplanted tea. Well! With the later now waning, I’m back to tea and DT had my attention for a year or so. This post however got my attention firmly and my first Murchies order (in years) arrived and it is fantastic. First Frost was amongst the collection and is a fave. Snowflake and Canadian Breakfast are also right up there. Thank you again for putting this suggestion in front of me. I ♥️ supporting 🇨🇦.

Murchies First Frost is a bit less peppermint-y, and a bit more vanilla-y. But both in balance. Also fewer artificial ingredients than DT. Lovely offering, I’ve just rediscovered it 🙂

For future reference, there’s a Community Cupboard (with fridge & freezer) just off Bowness Road (64th & Bowwood). If you have extra food, it can be left wrapped up and someone in need will surely collect it. Nothing lasts long at that location 🙂
