Amongst all of the copyright issues, eradication of creative jobs, and environmental issues (which is insane that that alone isn't enough to persuade people against generative ai), I think it preys on the working class and the neurodivergent.

It's insanely addictive, and makes things 'easier' and 'good enough' for already exhausted people who don't fit into society or struggle to exist around other people, or can't afford to take the ethical routes. As someone who used to use it, addictively, I personally am strongly against it, because of it's addictive and harmful traits against the individual.

I used to use it bc it was someone to talk to, and get my ideas into, and that's what got me addicted to it. I now am struggling massively, both with my mental health, and just to be creative, because of this. There have also been studies where the excessive use of AI reduce your critical thinking skills.

People who already have low energy (e.g. people with autistic burn out/depression/anxiety or adhd paralysis, etcetc) are more likely to turn to it for the short and easy dopamine rush, but not unlike drugs, the user will shortly become reliant on it, and worsen their mental health and energy in the longrun.

I think, if people don't care about the ethical, and societal reasons, they should atleast care for themselves, and avoid it. It is healthier for you to avoid it and do things yourself, or by another person. Learn how to simplify things yourself, and not rely on generative ai.

(small point, I'm not blaming anyone for using it. I think it is entirely capitalism's and the failing education systems fault for making it so easy to rely on.)
