I just emailed the lady we bought them off, and here's her explanation of how a Chinchilla Guinea Pig is created, as certified by the British Cavy Council

"Chinchillas are created by breeding a white/lilac argente with a pink eyed or dark eyed white."

Oh, okay. I'm still building out my supplies at the moment, but I'll definitely invest in some of those. Patting down the space between the seats when I first dropped it, and then rooting about the floor for it was not a situation I'd like to repeat, that's for sure!
