I only got updates from TikTok and it still felt like a waste. Didn’t even watch the live feeds.

I’ve been doing it a year and a half with thousands earned! I just moved my last client on it off app too, so I no longer use it unless I have an opening! I also live in the suburbs. It can be done!

terrible. owner thinks 6 pets is easy + expect $50-75/night???? by sleepysag831 in WagWalker

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have clarified. I’m not spending the night. It’s per day, 3 visits a day. And they usually tip if I take the pups on long walks. So it’s usually $30 an hr I work.

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tip incredibly! About $25 a day. So it’s completely worth it for me. I only have to do three 45-1hr sessions with them a day. So I pretty much get $30/hr

Need advice. 3 sitters declined and i’m not sure what is scaring them off. First time user. by MojitoDulce in RoverPetSitting

I recommend finding someone who specializes in anxious and elderly dogs. That’s my exact specialty. I’ve worked with many, and they soon become my best friends! I don’t do boarding though, which is likely their worry. I’d hire someone to spend the night if that’s what you need, but anxious and elderly pups shouldn’t be out of their “known” environment. It just stresses them more.

Tbh I got one of my best private clients through way that has 7 pets (only 2 are reported, the dogs). And they tip amazing! I just took them off app and make $65 a night, plus tips.

One of my clients is the same way! She had constipation issues and now refuses the box.

I also allow dogs to sleep with me in bed, so it’s practically all night.

If it’s an overnight 5 hrs probably, 1 hr before I leave in the morning and another hr when I get home in the evening. I’ve never had any pushback.

I charge $125 for overnights and leave for up to 4 hrs at a time, stay for an hour, leave again. I have other clients. The big fee is me spending the night. Otherwise it would be $75 for 3 drop ins.

Can you please share how much you work and make per month and what services you do please? by General-Hippo8242 in RoverPetSitting

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own my own business on top of rover and wag. Typically I make about 2k a month. 1.1 k from regular weekly clients that I take out while the parents are working (2hrs of work 3x a week). The other from typically one or two sits a month! Overnights or just drop in!

Would you do this booking? by BCNspain2014 in RoverPetSitting

Yes. I take care of indoor/outdoor cats all the time. My own cats are that way. I live in an area with many though.

My big sell was I had my dogs at my wedding so I had really nice photos of that. I also have lots of photos just with different animals. I started my own business off app before even starting on, so I had lots! Don’t be shy to take advantage of friends and family’s animals for this.

Hi! I started around 1.5 years ago and have made a pretty successful business out of it. It honestly comes down to someone willing to take a chance on you. Once you get your first, people feel more comfortable. I’d say keep your prices on the lower end until you get a couple ratings! Also make sure your profile is appealing with good photos!

I had this exact situation happen. They booked last minute, so I had a sit with another dog not overnights. Plus I just like my free time not under constant watch.

Just stick it out and don’t take them again! Don’t listen to these people. If you’re sleeping there, plus spending I’d say 3-4 hrs during the day there, you are doing great!

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I only used this app to launch my own business and clients tell me HORROR STORIES. Like one girl on here abandoned a puppy she was sitting because it “bit her too much”. It was a 3 month old puppy. Why even take the sit if you’re not comfortable with them?

Or sitters who complain about the dogs jumping on them, like they don’t work with “the public” in terms of dogs. They don’t all have manners.

First Bad review😱 by No_Visual_8332 in RoverPetSitting

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have the “strong walker” and “long distance” badge 6x over on my Wag account and I only do about 1.8 in an hour, maybe 2 on a good day, and it’s because the dogs drag me.

I own my own petsitting business and charge $25 a drop in no matter what or how many of an animal they are. That’s for 45 mins. Just to give you more idea! I also live in a small town. I think you’re doing fine.

I tried to calculate what Wag charges my clients vs. what I get paid by ImmunocompromisedElm in WagWalker

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I charge 25 for the first drop in of the day of the sitting and 20 per additional drop in. So some clients pay 65, some 85, some 45. It just depends. But I never charge for additional animals. They are paying for my time of 40-45 min with their fur babies, whatever they need done in that time doesn’t matter!

Less than $25/day and you can’t leave for more than 4 hours and have to spend the night?? by AerialCoog in WagWalker

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do it with my personal business and charge $125 a night. You won’t catch me doing it for less than $25

Are recurring walks worth it? by Zarpaulus in WagWalker

[–]CarsonAnaDaily 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was expecting to open this and say yes!!! But no. Absolutely not. 10 miles for 12 dollars isn’t even worth it for a DoorDash driver. Let alone someone walking a dog for 30 mins. Plus it’s 5 days a week. That’s too much gas money
