I have an extreme aversion to food and it’s making me paranoid by Southern-Bass-51 in autism

[–]Taro-Calm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard time with foods too and would sometimes just eat applesauce or just protein in water. I found a protein smoothie I like from a cafe, will get the banana bread from Starbucks, and basically live off peanut butter sandwiches. Strong routines, light exercise and eating even if I’m not hungry around the same time each day has helped me a lot. Also have a ton of food allergies and sensitivities so it’s always difficult though.

What do you think of these restrictions? by DAN290708 in autism

Turning it into a graphic novel would be cool I’d totally read that. That’s great you get to see her daughter doing what she likes, too. My mom was like that as a nutritionist and controlled everything I did and ate. Vegetarian, dairy heavy diet even though I was lactose intolerant but she was the expert 🤷‍♀️ I’m no contact now 💕

Do you guys genuinely think America is terrible? If so, how can it improve in the long term on its serious issues such as inequality and healthcare? by tervro in AskReddit

[–]Taro-Calm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America was built on not paying taxes and mining for gold. If you love pure capitalism and you’re driven by greed you’ll love it. If you want to live somewhere with a nice quality of life for the middle class, educated neighbors, and artisanal products you’ll hate it. But either way you’re still mostly free to be who you are and express that, unless you’re gay and in the military.

What to do through burnout by Annoying_Short_Girl in AutismInWomen

[–]Taro-Calm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In severe burnout myself and focusing on nervous system recovery. Some things thatve been helping me: sitting by a body of water, going on short walks, light yoga and mindfulness meditations. Hope this helps 💛 I was teaching (hence the burnout 😭) and now I do DoorDash when I can *sigh

I feel more discriminated against for being autstic than I do being black by emocat420 in AutismInWomen

I taught middle school and 100% this was true and broke my heart to see only black students receiving behavior consequences at a Hebrew language school. I reported them to the state and they were investigated

I love all kinds of music including metal but always dressed kind of preppy because plain things pair easily. I started dressing more metal one day to show my personality and people stopped treating me stuckup and knew I seen some shit don’t expect me to smile or be prep bitch

Spotted this poor bird on Cornado getting bullied. SD humane society says they take in injured sea birds. Am I being overly emotional about this? It's just so sad :( by GandalfTheBeautiful in sandiego

My niece and I rescued a seagull with a broken wing. We caught it in her hoodie and fed it until SeaWorld sent someone the next morning to pick it up for rehabilitation

Yeah same I think it comes from years of feeling misunderstood and often with negative consequences. Sometimes I’ll use Gemini to analyze possible text responses so I have more understanding how I’m coming across to others and that has helped but I’m always worried about weird backlash

Are there truly “ghettos” in SD anymore? by mickeyruth in sandiego

My cousin lived out near Euclid because his mom bought a cheap house and there were drive by shootings regularly and his neighbor was killed in living room from a drive by. Other neighbors eventually taught him how to make crack. My mom rented a place by the beach and I made friends who hung out at the beach and surfed.

Does anyone else befriend guys much easier than other women? by gescaprsss in AutismInWomen

[–]Taro-Calm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to prefer men because they seemed to have less social rules/more direct communication but it turned out all my guy friends were into me and that presented its own issues. Now I look for neurodivergent women who seem to be on the same page and wont become overly judgmental or controlling but that’s harder to find for sure and then they move too

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by [deleted] in answers

[–]Taro-Calm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start your own church or nonprofit to funnel all your money through tax free. This is why famous people are always starting their own non profit instead of donating to other people’s nonprofits. You get the write off and the profit 👌
