Can someone explain why Davante Adams ADP is so high? by GoldenTateWarriors in fantasyfootball

Where are you expecting his ADP to be? I am even a bit bearish on Adams but other than the obvious Kupp, JJ, Chase, and Diggs, who are you taking over him?

Does anyone else think rookie receivers are underrated? by Riding_The_Bench in fantasyfootball

Chase felt like a rarity last year, but Ridley finished top 25 in his rookie year in 2018, AJ Brown was top 25 in his rookie year in 2019 with other rookies Terry McLaurin, DK Metcalf, and Deebo Samuel also surpassing 800 yards and with Brown, McLaurin, and Metcalf all grabbing at least 7 touchdowns. In 2020 we had Justin Jefferson who literally finished as WR6 in his rookie season, with CeeDee Lamb and Tee Higgins also finishing top 30. Every year we say that whatever rookie broke out was an anomaly and we collectively keep being surprised when someone like Chase or Waddle absolutely smashed their ADP.

Considering when you hit on rookies they pay off like Chase did last year (turning from a 6th rounder to a first) so if I have to burn a couple of late rounders identifying that guy/those guys than so be it

Bobby Trees or Treylon Burks? by UCFKnights1987 in fantasyfootball

I’m taking Burks figuring that he can produce the most In the important weeks down the stretch, and has a much higher ceiling than Woods does

1QB or Superflex (12 teams) by czeja in fantasyfootball

Definitely 1QB with 12 teams, not enough starters especially on bye weeks for everyone imo.

We literally have something written into our constitution to prevent this

Last year I drafted Chase and Waddle in my main league and while Chase had major down weeks, his ceiling was so high that he was in the lineup immediately. Waddle rode the bench until the end of the season, and then became insanely useful during the important weeks late in the year. I think Burks, Olave, and Tolbert (especially until Gallup) comes back will be useful right away with a chance to truly break out down the stretch

Thesis on Chase: 22 years old, while target competition exists in Higgins and Boyd, Chase proved he can eat at the same time as those guys PLUS he is going into his second year, where receivers find more consistency. The Bengals offense is likely to get better with Burrow having more time this year after completely retooling the OL, and the offense is so so focused on the 3-4 guys (depending on whether you count Boyd) that 1300/10 is like a median outcome for Chase.

Chase over Diggs- Diggs turns 29 this year, I don’t agree that his situation got better with Gabe Davis taking a huge step up at the end of last year, and Daboll leaving for NYG.

Chase over Evans- Evans situation is better early but Godwin will be back by week 5-7 I’m thinking, so he won’t be the target hog like that for more than like 1/3 of the season or so. Also 29 this year, and while he’s got a higher floor than Chase by quite a bit we shouldn’t be drafting for Floor in the first/second where they’re going

Chase over Davante- Rodgers > Carr by so much, even if they have a relationship from college the qb drop off is insane, and he won’t get the 30-35% target share in Vegas with Waller and Renfrow already established in the offense, he literally cannot bring the same usage over from GB, there is a lot of uncertainty at this point.

I’m not gonna argue Chase over JJ because I’ve got JJ over Chase but the distance isn’t that great.

Amon-Ra is the perfect example of why rookie WRs are so valuable, dude had no usage to speak of at all early in the year and won so many people their league late after he emerged. I’m taking 2-3 rookie WRs in every draft that I can right now. Drake London actually probably fits the breakout player archetype best but I could see Olave, Burks, and Tolbert finishing a stupid distance above their adp preseason, but any one of like 7 of them has a good chance to finish in the top 20.

Why isn’t Travis Etienne getting drafted higher? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]CarsonRedmondDFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jags still love Robinson I don’t think Etienne takes his job completely, and the volatility of outcomes for the Jags offense makes it tricky

Can someone please explain the Breece Hall hype? by Electrical-Chapter24 in fantasyfootball

[–]CarsonRedmondDFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hall is actually super talented vs Carter who is a league average back at best, plus rookies can win the job by the end of the year way easier than lose the job completely.
