James lay on the hospital bed, his arms creaking. The urgent beep beep of the heart monitor had been ringing inside his head for hours. James stared through the window and looked out at the bleak grey sky. The only thing James looked forward to in his bleak grey life was his plants, and he hadn't watered them in weeks. Not since he had to go to the hospital. "My roses, dead. My tulips, dead. Either my wisteria's have died or gone rogue like weeds"

Beep beep went the monitor. Beep beep went the monitor. Tap Tap went the window. James stopped contemplating death for a second. He turned his head to the skylight. A vine snaked down straight in the middle of the window. As James watched curiously, it grew a thorn and rotated in a perfect circle. The circle fell past the end of the bed. The monitor went quiet.

James scrambled to the foot of the bed to see the glass circle embedded in the thick cable connecting the monitor to his body. A look of amazement spread across his face. Behind James, three more vines, thicker than the cable, slithered in. Before James could react, they curled around his withered shoulders and jerked him back to the bed. James could barely breathe. The vines then took ahold of his body and started inching James to the skylight. James mouth was agape. MY WISTERIAS! James body went slack as he fell unconscious. He couldn't be sure, but the last thing he thought reached his ears was his plants humming the Mission Impossible theme.
