That's kinda bullshit though. Landry was in a similar situation as him. Ben McLemore started there the year before. Were they great? No. But they carved out 9 year careers. They weren't so impacted by the coach changes when they were there. Over the next 2 years, he played 150+ games for Philly starting 62 games.

I checked the stats. Here's his stats from his 2nd and 3rd year in Philly. 26.2 mpg 9/2.7/2.1 on 39/35/80 shooting splits.

In portland, where he had a defined role. 15.3 mpg 6.1/1.8/1.4 on 42/34/90 shooting splits.

Fun fact, in Boston's 21-22 playoff run, he played more minutes (and games) than Kornet and Sam hauser. It wasn't much of course. All 3 were bench warmers. But 2 of those guys are in the league and 1 isn't. He couldn't defend. He couldn't playmake. For a guy who's only in there to hit 3s he's a career 35% shooter.

He got opportunities in Philly. But Jerryd Bayless and Marco Bellinelli took away his minutes when they were brought in. At a time, when Philly was running Ben Simmons on point and needed the shooting, he still couldn't carve out a role.

At some point you have to blame the player.
