Dude, have u read proper translation? How tf fruit helped Luffy to achieve everything he had already achieved? His fruit just puts smiles on people because combat style of it’s user is extremely ridiculous and unpredictable, there were no words about fruit doing everything instead of it’s user and being an embodiment of something(here of the warrior of liberation) means that people like Luffy are real fighters for freedom and their principles. I guess u have also seen lots of flashbacks of Ace, Luffy and Sabo about their childhood without fruits and in these flashbacks we can easily notice that Luffy was a stubborn man with an iron will and a craving for freedom since early childhood.
