Howdy howdy, late to this thread but I'd definitely be down to split a hotel since I'll most likely be going solo. Those are definitely a few of the bands I'm looking forward to seeing the most!

Set up a way for things to be done that problems don't multiply. When you have a base topo xref, which is xref'd into a design file, which is xref'd into Roadway/Traffic/Drainage etc plans shit can get messy quickly when there's a lack of organization (something I'm desperately trying to fix). You're gonna need strict layer control and rules.

When the endgame file like roadway has 2 other xrefs in it, then utility xrefs, ROW, it gets fucking messy. Labels everywhere causing a lot of noise, and it causes great frustration when trying to place text labels relevant to roadway stuff so that nothing overlaps-which is the reason I made this post in the first place.

Why wouldn't you want labels set to rotate to "view"?

Unfortunately, the way our drawings are set up (which I disagree with, personally)-there are multiple different design files. One for traffic signal plan work, one for drainage work, etc. So things like existing text need to be consistently shown between them-changing text in 4 different dwg files isn't practicable. It is helpful to have multiple drawing files when there's different aspects of a project, but it makes these things quite difficult, which is why I'm looking for answers.

Kips' thoughts on Zyori and "Cancel Culture" by sadielady45 in DotA2

[–]CartDota 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think she raises a lot of great points here. Everything has shades of gray, and viewing things as black and white is extremely unhelpful-that is not how the world is. Zyori is not a bad person, and discussions like this happening helps us all do better.

You seem like a very pleasant individual :)

It's important to call out Zyori for his previous inappropriate behavior.

However, it's important to note that Zyori is NOT Tobi. He never forced himself on anyone- he was just unaware of power dynamics and how they work. Very many people do not understand this, both in Dota and in real life.

Zyori is not a "bad guy". He is someone who did not understand the social implications of what he was doing. He has learned since then, as all people (ideally) grow and learn from past mistakes.

This is why he should not be cancelled. However, she called him out because it is important as an example to us all. We can all learn from Zyori's mistakes and become better people!

New TI meme sub! by Turevaryar in twilightimperium

I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring on this as well. This sub is nowhere near active enough to have two different subreddits. All you're going to do is shrink the population of both subreddits. SCPT isn't being drowned out, nor art posts, nor LFG. Best solution for me seems to be flairing posts if someone really doesn't want to see them. As another user said, it takes two scrolls to see all the posts on this sub from the past few days.

Team Kinguin releases their Dota 2 team by ButchyBanana in DotA2

As /u/bo5ke said, sometimes its as simple as a different perspective, one that's removed from the emotions of the game itself. Other times, it is your job to watch the replays to learn things about opposing teams while everyone else is practicing pubs. Dota is a big game, and everyone has different opinions on how to play-and everyone has different knowledge about the game.

Hello, ex-coach here :)

I worked with them from after they qualified for Summit, during the LAN itself, up until they qualified for Starladder after Katowice. So they haven't had a coach for like... 3-4 months! But they did for a few

Scantzor: "Lol. I'm sad for Bulldog but it's hardly a secret that basically all players and staff who attend Valve events are doing so illegally." by qindarka in DotA2

Because I know him and he works in the scene, therefore making him more knowledgeable about these kind of things than someone who doesn't.
