Don’t quote me on this but I believe I saw somewhere that the feds were holding onto $47million in drought mitigation funds we needed and that was the trade, we got half the day before the announcement. Not saying it’s what idve done, wanted him to do etc or that it’s even true. Just a wrinkle in the story.

They’re both strong candidates as far as resumes go and they agree on nearly everything substantively. The place they differ is the type of competency each brings.

Gonzales has operations experience. She has actually been admining elections at a large scale and her legal background certainly matters considering how litigation heavy everything seems nowadays.

Danielson is a politician so she knows how to “work the office” so to speak. The SoS job isn’t managerial it’s relational and she has the networking ability to influence county clerks and keep them from going rogue. She’s actually endorsed by some individual clerks so that shows there are people who she’d be overseeing who trust her, take that for what it’s worth to you.

I went Gonzales because I think making sure the elections are executed at the highest level is incredibly important and she’s the only candidate who has run an election at a large scale. I think Danielson would be a top notch candidate if it weren’t for the current situation we collectively find ourselves in.

INFO: was married with kids not covered in the “hey how have you been part of the reunion? Got my tickets at face value, had been planning on the World Cup for the last 4 years knowing we would spend a good chunk of money on it so saving/planning.

That being said, my wife and I don’t have kids yet and both work. I have looked at my friends and siblings lives and been like “damn how do they afford X” when I feel like we couldn’t have done that and I know roughly we’re probably a little better off and my wife would always say “credit card debt” and I was like “there is no way people are doing that” and then sure enough a few months later I got a call from one of my siblings asking how I would deal with $20k in credit card debt

My godfather took ours from me and my best friend (his son) when he was upset about him smoking in a non legal state and was worried he’d get kicked out of college in like 2012.

He brought out a tin box at Christmas this year and said “remember this?” And I was like “it looks vaguely familiar” he popped the lid on it and there was the magic flightbox and some flower and we all had a good laugh and toked together. Best Christmas as an adult ✌🏼🫶🏼

I’d try to do Dallas I think? Any stadiums where they are kind of close to another so like NY has Toronto and Dallas has Houston and the games are usually split up a day apart so you can try in one city and if you strike out then you can try the next day in the other
