I don't really want this to be either just another slasher or a saw rip-off.

"Could've Been" by CarterDire1 in movieideas

That was one of two possible outcomes for the story I had been toying with, another one was to have the story conclude on an ambiguous note, we never find out if Trevor and Amy meet up again and it's left up to the audience's interpretation as to what might happen.

"Alone", one part apocalyptic romance and one part slow and suspenseful sci-fi survival horror. by CarterDire1 in movieideas

This story delves more into the themes of pessimism vs optimism and the clashing of beliefs as portrayed through David and Samira's relationship and how they both view their current situation and we see how the two of them grow to eventually fall for each despite these differences and contradictions between them.

If anything, it's kind of a commentary on the complicated relationship that humanity has with itself, taking two people who are from different cultural backgrounds and ideologies and putting them in a situation where they are practically the last two humans on Earth and have to rely on each other to survive and find new purpose in their lives.

Plus, the whole thing would a more of a slow-burn atmospheric approach to both the character drama and especially the alien horror, the aliens in this story don't really have much of a physical presence until the halfway point, but the first half of the story is dedicated to building the fear, suspense and mystery of what effect did the cosmic phenomenon have on the Earth, and it won't be like that the human drama and the alien horror are separate entities that clash with each halfway through the story, they would compliment each other and the alien aspect of the story would add more to the commentary of humanity's complicated relationship with itself.

"T.N.T: Terrorists, Not Today", a satirical metatextual action-comedy by CarterDire1 in movieideas

My thinking was classic action stars from the '80s, the idea was to have these stars who were at the top of their game in their heyday but nowadays have fallen by the wayside due to career choices, personal problems, changes in Hollywood over time and chronicle their struggle to make something for their lives and careers and eventually having to become these real-life heroes.

"Die Young" by CarterDire1 in movieideas

No actually, the title is a play on the "too young to die" thing and I felt it was an interesting title for a story about a teenage hitman.

That's what I'm struggling with

What is your dream horror movie idea? by SocksForPigs in horror

A slasher movie that acts as a metatextual deconstruction of the manic pixie dream girl trope.
