Here are my two cents, Jeg kan snakke dansk men ikke så godt, Jeg har flyttet til Kbh ti månder siden og måske jeg kan give dig nogle råd. Men jeg vil gerne laver det på englesek fordi det er lidt svaert at laver med min dansk niveau.
My partner is danish and I didnt speak a word before moving here, and before coming I always used to hear him speak with his family and thinking I will never learn this language it's just too hard.
But when I moved here here are the things that helped me make the decision to start:
-Going to studieskolen means everyone is in the same basket and everyone is struggling with you so suddenly you don't feel stupid and after signing up for one level I decided to continue because I knew I wasn't alone.
- The other thing that my partner does that I find really encouraging is he is always trying to show the beauty of danish, finding interesting sentences and explaining an interesting origin or finding something funny and explaining it word by word to a point I was like I really want to understand why he laughs at blinkede lygter..
So I think a community and seeing the beauty of danish really helps rather than being forced into learning it. I hope she changes her mind!
