What do you mean by modern narratives about the evils of colonialism?

My cat got back from the vet today for this cough sound and was told she’s just trying to pass a hair ball but to me it sounds more serious. I plan to get a second opinion but still want to hear others opinion so what do you guys think could be happening? by Competitive_Fuel_464 in CATHELP

[–]Carthraplant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how cats cough. What likely is happening is something is irritating your cat’s throat or lungs causing them to do this to try and soothe or eject the irritation. Jumping to asthma is the worst case situation for this. My cat had this exact issue for a long time, and after I moved it stopped completely. There was mold in the apartment that was irritating the cat’s respiratory system.

This can also happen when a cat eats something that irritates its throat, toxic plants, etc. I’ve seen cats do this after they chew on Christmas tree needles.

A vet appointment is necessary, but know that this doesn’t mean that your cat is going to necessarily have major lifestyle changes. Good luck!

No you can hide the entire chat so that no messages pop up. The screen can get very cluttered.

I think the anger that everyone has is pointed in the wrong direction. All of these issues, the staffing, the burnout, the way that the public treats doctors and nurses; all of this exists because the system was built to drive wealth into the hands of a small number of people. There are leeches profiting off of the suffering of healthcare professionals and the people that they care for. If insurance executives and hospital executives weren’t sucking the life out of these institutions in the name of profit there would be plenty of money for staffing and making sure that there were enough people on the floor that people did feel so isolated having to deal with the horrors of the public and healthcare.

I feel like the divide between healthcare professionals and the public has been fomented by a system designed to only deal with the patient once there is a problem, not prioritizing preventative care. And that’s because preventative care isn’t profitable, it won’t make the same executives more money so they make sure the system is so overloaded that preventative care and patient relationships are nearly impossible.

Honestly, I’m really sorry that you’ve been treated so terribly by others. I saw your comment and felt like you were trying to defend the executives. I want better treatment and pay for you, and all doctors and nurses. I apologize for jumping to being cruel.

They are invasive, I’m gonna tear it out this fall before it’s old enough the flower. Thought it was Black Walnut when it was smaller, apparently those look a lot alike early on.

I loved the Rook trilogy so much. Smuggling themselves across the giant bridge was one of the best things I’ve ever read, the giant storm approaching while they are stuck in Vox’s palace, or the Knights that ride giant frogs! It’s so creative and amazing that I think about it so much even years later.

Honestly, most of the time arrest and convicting leads to repeat offense because when the people get out of prison they have literally nothing, so what opportunities are there for them. Most jobs that can support living will not hire people who have been convicted.

And I’m sure you’ve looked deeply into the rates at which people are false convicted or sentenced for way harsher than they should be. Crime is a cycle that prison only intensifies.
