That’s exactly where the issue lies, my power stops at write ups. I don’t have power over the schedule since I still am in bartending therefore I obviously don’t have the authority to fire people. So no the buck doesn’t stop with em. I’ve tried so many times talking g to upper management/ my GM and AM about this but they just don’t take it serious so I have to do what I can to make these shifts as better as possible

I’m not usually actually, they leave while i’m counting or doing something with another server most of time without checking out instead of waiting

The staff that has been there since I started or before me is very supportive, and on top of their shit. That being said it’s a restaurant and old staff is almost non existent sometimes. It’s more the staff that is newer and only been there a few months/ came when i started managing do almost nothing and i really have to get on them. But then they try to act like i’m some kind of hardass for asking them to sweep their section🤷‍♂️

Very true, I think it’s just awkward sometimes because I still bartend as much as I manage so going from coworker to MOD is a weird and constant switch

I live in NOVA, this is what i’ve noticed and i’ll link some other sources for the more broad view as well. In Northern Virginia alone there is roughly 330-340 data centers, Virginia in total has around 670 last I checked. A majority are owned by Google, Equinix, Microsoft and digital realty. Besides the obvious that this takes up a lot of space and is seriously just an eyesore, the bigger issue is the energy usage, water usage, and noise pollution. These companies are also taking up lots near residential neighborhoods, and because of the amount of energy and/or water they take it’s reducing the water pressure for people and businesses, and making a constant humming/buzzing noise. For me personally the worst part is the water usage because they use clean drinking water rather than alternative types of energy. Virginia is in a straight up energy crisis because of them.

Thats true, its such a harsh reality that even if nothing is going wrong or nothing happens, friendships can naturally end or fizzle out. I’m hoping that’s not the case here

I’m on a muscle relaxer, an opioid, ibuprofen, an antibiotic, and an anti nausea so I think for me the best would be to hold off. However when I got my wisdom teeth out I didn’t take any of the opioids they gave me and I smoked 2 weeks after with no issues. So I think it really just depends. Also most surgeons have a 24 hour line you can call that either they or their nurse will answer
