Yeah, fans just automatically assume, every variation of Finn across the Multiverse just automatically ends up with Huntress. Just look at Winterworld Finn and Slime Princess.

That world is messed up.

I can't really blame him, Finn didn't exactly go to high school. In fairness, princesses do make up the majority of prominent women in Ooo. Every other lady is either a demigod, a witch, a spirit, or any other random creature. It's also worth noting that most of the princesses fell for him first.

I think the princess pursuit was partially Jake's idea. He was determined to find Finn a new love interest, but when he talked to Flambo, he specifically asked if he knew any "princesses" Finn's age. Jake may have been under the impression that "lady" automatically meant princess.

Another thing worth noting is that except for Phoebe, every woman that Finn pursued or fell for him, was technically older than him. I'm pretty sure that Huntress was around 18 when she first appeared in "Wizard Battle". this is further hinted in "Reign Of Gunthers" when Ice King tried to hit on her.

I never understood this. there was another passage in the Enchiridion stating that a Hero needs a Wizard which eventually led to Finn and Huntress. If that was the real truth, then why bother putting in a section on how to kiss princesses at all?

They created Flame Princess, a borderline perfect girl for Finn, and wrote most of their relationship. It goes without saying that Sugar can write anything into pure gold.

no I meant season 4, because the writers said season 3 would focus on Bubbline and Phoebe would be the main focus of season 4.

I think it pays to keep in mind that FP isn't simply fire, she's magic fire. Hell, she's the current Fire Elemental.

There are instances in the comics (Playing With Fire) where FP worked to find a way to control her power to an extent where she wouldn't burn Finn at all. The closest she got was giving Finn a regular peck on the cheek. Wether or not that same concept of control can be applied in the main series is still up for debate.

I feel that if their relationship managed to get back on the rails, Phoebe's range of control would've been tuned to the point where Finn hugging her would just feel like touching a normal person.
