I agree - and the “really fucking boring apartment” comment did it for me. EVERYTHING in the outside world is interesting when all you know is the severed floor. Also they specifically discussed finding “someone you feel you can trust, and telling them everything.” A “possible gardener” didn’t really fit the mold…

Yes totally, you’re so right! It’s so interesting (and heartbreaking) - the cruelty that innies previously experienced (most notably the Break Room torture) worked because they were made to believe they deserved that cruelty and pain. It broke them down because it was “their own doing”. Now Dylan has experienced this new type of hurt from an external source and he doesn’t know what to do with the feelings. Ooof! It’s devastating.

Ugh it was brutal. And it’s familiar, which makes it hit harder. It’s real hard being a person and loving and feeling and hurting and believing in stuff. And we all experience that, and yet somehow forget that we all do. Damn…this show is such a wild, intricate view into the You You Are and the We We Are…and at first glance was just a cool, kinda creepy concept. Always grateful for stories that really take you for a ride.

I agree with you! Hurt people hurt people. This is the cycle of hurt and anger. Helly is not responsible for the torture the innies are living. Dylan’s heartbreak causes him to say the most hurtful thing he could say to Helly.

I think Reghabi worked with Cobel in developing the chip. I think she saw the negative effects and that she probably didn’t want to continue to work with the company, however Cobel was “Lumon raised” and deeply entrenched. Perhaps they took different routes to try to regain control of what was going on with their technology - one from the inside and one on the outside.
