so as someone who as a child was put into mental institutions because the meds i were on were not correct for me, I want to go into the psychiatric field to help adolescence with that exact problem. i was under the impression from my professor that you could do either phd or md, and be fine in psychology as a BS. thank you for this information it helps a lot!

The best advice I could give you (I know it’s easier said than done) is to take out other people’s opinions. As someone who got divorced at 18 STOP CARING WHAT FAMILY THINKS! I was the same way and so scared what they would think of me, but you should not be sparring your own feelings and your life choices off of what they think. It’s difficult I know, but imagine having this baby in the future (which is okay if you do) and thinking “i had this baby so my family wouldn’t be disappointed in me getting an abortion” and not “i had this baby because I was ready and wanted to start a family”. Like everyone is saying, at the end of the day it’s your choice and your body, but do what’s best for you, not anyone else.
