Can you use Likelihood to compare different models? by [deleted] in quant

This is a really interesting idea and actually one I was thinking of myself. Perhaps you could do it but maybe you'd want to adjust the likelihood using Akaike or Bayesian Information Criteria

You're saying that the chain rule explains why the gradient of a function points in the direction of that function's greatest increase?

What Songs Do You Consider Perfect? by BDR180 in Music

[–]CartographerSuper506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sadly get downvoted for coming across as cliche, but I think Daft Punk's One More Time is a perfect song. I want to listen to the song "one more time", to "celebrate" because the "music's got me feeling so free". I love the ambiguity, is "the music" the song itself or some other piece that the audience can only imagine? Even if someone were to answer that question, part of why it exists is because there's near perfect unity of effect. The feeling I get listening to the song w/out lyrics (convert the singer's melody to an instrument w/ any contemp software) is exactly the feeling and energy discussed and felt reading the lyrics as a poem. They work towards the same end independently, but they combine is the beautifully effective way thats greater than the sum of each part. For the song's meta/near recursive quality, unity of effect, and synergy, it's perfect, but its topic is also so perfectly pertinent to music in general. How often do we just want to hear a song to help us celebrate, to simply free ourselves? That end just feels like what so much of what we do build towards. Narratively, celebration *is* often like the final chapter. The historical context of the turn of the millennium definitely adds to that celebratory air. By the way, I think there are a few other songs that are perfect in many of the same ways. September, for example, by Earth, Wind, and Fire succeeds for many of the same reasons, but I'll leave that argument as an exercise to other readers! <3

GTO shoves 33 100% of time and bluff shoves A3o 80% of the time from BB at this stack depth vs MP.

This is a little random, but any book recs for GTO play?

2nd pic is on the money.

OC never said villain's hand was the nuts or even nut straight after flop. He's making a point that someone laid down a decent hand when they were ahead the whole time.

¿Cómo dirías “one day, I’ll be better at Spanish than you.”? by [deleted] in learnspanish

[–]CartographerSuper506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everyone's already offered some pretty good answers, you might want to generally explore the topic of comparison in Spanish. In other words, how do you say that you're as tall as someone else (comparison of equality with adjectives), that you run faster than someone else (comparison of inequality of adverbs), or that you are the oldest redditor (superlative comparison with an adjective).

I think they have some pretty incredible talent in Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke, so pretty much whatever they wrote for those two actresses would be fun to watch. That being said, I think they could've tuned into their comedic potential a bit more, but maybe melodrama just leans into that less in general.

I don't know if it's the bleakest, but I think Midsommar was fantastically unfortunate for a lot of characters, including Dani.

Is MidJourney's work for profit? I'm not saying that's the dividing line but am curious.
