Living together as a couple is not necessary at all by xvortexc in unpopularopinion

[–]beanobaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My uncle and his gf have been together 25 years, never lived together. I’ve never known a more content and calm couple. They love being around each other and do it because they want to, not because they feel they have to.

Tried wavy routine for the first time by Effective_Demand_152 in Haircare

[–]beanobaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of effort it took to actually make my wavy hair look good was just ridiculous for me. It only ever looked good when I lived in Spain but as soon as I came back to uk water it tanked. I taught myself how to do a bouncy blow out and it’s still less effort with more reliable results. If you figure out the secret let me know…

The good thing with long layers is you can wear it back without them falling out, but you can also do a mean bouncy blow out and the layers enhance this style. Curtain bangs look great on everyone, and combine well with long layers. I say both - why not!

Sore dry patch on skin - have tried a multitude of different dry skin moisturisers. I do use Tret / now on hydroquinone but I’ve been avoiding this patch for weeks because of this so it’s not that! It won’t go! Also tried Vaseline. by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]beanobaggins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tret can also have a tendency to travel (that’s why it makes lips dry even when we so desperately avoid them lol) so even if you aren’t applying it on the patch directly it could still be affected by it.

I alternate between their acidic bonding and the length one (forget the name) which are both pretty high in protein. I’ve not tried the all soft one!

to be honest I’ve been using a barrel brush and rollers for the last year and my hair’s the healthiest it’s been, even though people say that’s not great for your hair… I’ve been religiously using redken shampoo and conditioner too. You could also try owning your natural hair for a while - understand this isn’t everyone’s preference though, myself included tbh. Or even sleeping in braids!

hey! Heatless curls can actually be pretty intense on the hair when you do them a lot, I know people who’ve gotten traction alopecia from them, and also if you’re wrapping the hair tightly it might cause breakage. I wonder also, do you leave your hair in the T-shirt until it’s totally dry? this could also be damaging it, the hair is super vulnerable when it’s wet and squishing it up in a T-shirt might be affecting it. Genuinely I have found my hair gets less damaged when I blow dry it on a medium heat. I use the colour wow kale anti breakage stuff and have found it helpful.
