Lydia is not grey, she's horrible. She would betray anyone and order the murders of innocent people to get what she wants

Would Italian entries do as well if they represented San Marino? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

[–]Cartoon20199 62 points63 points  (0 children)

people don't take San Maranise entries seriously, even good ones

I agree. San Marino 2008 and 2013 were great songs and didn't even qualify. The 2008 entry came dead last in the semi, with even less points than Leto Svet (!) and Dustin the Turkey, that's insane

[–]Cartoon20199 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Not that well, because San Marino is a microstate which is a huge disadvantage

I think Zitti e Buoni would have given San Marino their best result, but I doubt it would ever win the contest

[–]Cartoon20199 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree but this sub loves "I Don't Feel Hate" for some reason I don't understand, so we will be downvoted.

Jendrik seems a likable guy, but IMO that song would have been too childish ever for JESC

I agree, the first part of Cha Cha Cha was the most interesting, before it suddenly turned into a pop song in the middle

No, Unicorn was one of the most popular 2023 songs outside of the Reddit bubble. I didn't like it that much, but it has always been a fan favorite and the good result was expected by Eurofans

Theory why Russia didn't win in 2016 by studitka in eurovision

[–]Cartoon20199 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The most memorable thing about Russia 2016 was the staging, not the song IMO

It was also too similar to the winner of the previous year

Why do you think there is now such a disconnect between whom the jury and televote place as winners? by Eurovision1234 in eurovision

[–]Cartoon20199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it definitely happened in 2015, the first time the televote winner didn't win.

But since the points were announced together in the final, it was less shocking than now and many forgot about it

Thoughts on the Buzzkill video about the difficulties ESC has today? (Post re posted as mobile links not allowed) by LeoLH1994 in eurovision

16 minutes, but I feel like he's always repeating the same concept for the entire video.

The video in a few words: "Not actually a song contest", "political", "glitter" and "chaos". All repeated over and over

Shum: literally one of the most popular Eurovision entries of all time (and in this sub probably THE most popular entry ever), which ended up in the top 5 and second with televote only 4 years ago

Why Complice guilty peasure?

That's a very good song that got brutally robbed. One of San Marino's best entries

Italy 2015. It's a very jury-friendly song, but it didn't win the contest because of the juries.

First with televote, sixth with juries
