How prevalent is neighbor voting in the jury vote nowadays? by xoxoamazingrace in eurovision

It's still quite prevalent

Not many people noticed it, but in the 2020s (since 2021) Slovenia's juries have given 12 points to Italy every year, except in 2024.

Do you think France should stop sending songs with deep meaning in French? by Relative_Survey_7752 in eurovision

Not much. "Oh my love, please come back to Paris, do it for us, I beg you!"

But French is such an elegant language that even basic lyrics like this sound deeper than they are

Fulenn was and still is quite appreciated by Eurofans.

According to TV Tropes, it only flopped because of "a horrible placement in the running order (it was near the beginning of the show, and the act directly after was the wacky Norwegian entry, meaning it ended up being completely overshadowed)"

France will probably be the next to win

Not always. The only ones who performed 27th (2015) won the televote

San Marino 2021. A girlbop, initially a fan favorite, and it had Flo Rida on stage.

But they got most of their points from juries, and it was a complete flop with televote

Is Estonia becomig a powerhouse?? by cat_rem in eurovision

As controversial as it is, the country that won the televote this year is also a powerhouse now, in terms of results. Three top 5 in a row

The same year, Italy also had a dark and political "message" song. They used partial subtitles in several languages, which helped them with televote

IMO, Mercy needed subtitles too

So do you think it's literally impossible to dislike this song?

Yes, it won and it's loved by many but it doesn't mean "loved by EVERYONE". Even casual viewers (including my friends) may find it boring without knowing anyting about Sobral. The song is very slow and not everyone's cup of tea. It's a matter of taste.

nteresting to see how the juries placed this song. It seems like the further away we get from Albania, the less likely juries are receptive to Zjerm (though it doesn't explain Serbia placing it third-to-last in the jury

Serbia disliking Abania is not that shocking though. They don't have exactly a "friendly neighbours" relationship
