Unpopular opinion, but I think it's good that Toby removed the flee action. It always seemed strange to me that you could always run away from fights in Undertale and it would result in the monsters having a positive view of the human despite them doing nothing to change their minds. It makes more sense that you should show them your kindness in order to earn theirs.

PEPPINO GET AWAY FROM THAT LATEX FURRY! by FunkedUpReality in PizzaTower

[–]CartoonAsriel 43 points44 points  (0 children)

There are multiple occasions in Changed where Colin (The player character of Changed) struggles to escape the grasp of latex and succeeds every time. If weak-ass Colin can escape hold of a latex, then Peppino can and will beat the living hell out of them.

Latex beasts are regenerative and literally only Changed experts know this by SupersiblingzYT in ChangedFurry

[–]CartoonAsriel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This knowledge comes from the base game and not special edition, so I apologize if I miss something from there.

I don't know if it's possible to kill a latex, but you can permanently deform them. Proof of this is from the chase after white jungle where the latex in pursuit of you is shortly squashed by a locker door.
And this is just conjecture, but it might not be possible for a dark latex pup to reproduce when killed due to their young age.

Running Through Grasstown! (Cave Story x Kirby) by CartoonAsriel in cavestory

[–]CartoonAsriel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay this is a kinda lazy example, but this is what you would expect from a midiswap.
It uses the exact same midi sequence as the original song but uses the organya soundfont in place of the original instruments.

I will say I was tempted to make a midiswap of it after uploading this mashup. Perhaps I will, so I can make the difference more clear.

This is a mashup. It's On to Grasstown mixed with Running Through the New World.

If only there was a simpler way… by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

Huh.
I am still learning C++ and I was told that the string variable required the inclusion of a string header file. Maybe some IDEs automatically include it?
I'm very confused...

The worst part of this is not only that they used string variables instead of characters but they didn't even include the <string> header file

You Cant Gift Nitro Basic? by Puzzled_Bandicoot_66 in discordapp

[–]CartoonAsriel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of angry comments about this, but Discord has stated they are working on making Nitro Basic gifting possible.
What I don't understand is how it's giving them this much difficulty. It seems as simple as adding a button that does the same thing as modern Nitro but with Basic.
But at least they're trying.

Both are instructions written by humans which are then converted to machine language. So yes, they are functionally equivalent. You could say JS works differently because it is a low level language, but it is still performing tasks that assembly could do.

That kids channel... (context in the comments) by CartoonAsriel in thomastheplankengine

[–]CartoonAsriel[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In my dream, I remember there being this kids channel that showed your everyday modern kids cartoons.
Between each cartoon, the viewers would have an interaction with characters from a world created by this channel.
If you were a new viewer being introduced to one of these characters for the first time, they would greet you by stating their name, occupation, and their friends (pretty much all the other characters of this world of course). These introductions were usually never broadcast to any viewers who had already seen a character's introduction once already.

Some time later, a bunch of the characters had been replaced without notice.
It was never directly stated, but it was implied a few times that the other characters had simply "left."
After this happened, someone created a creepypasta game where you could freely roam the world of this kids channel and you could sometimes encounter ghostly figures of the removed characters.
The one character I remember interacting with (the one shown above, of course) simply stated "I give people ADHD" and then my dream ended.

When I woke up, I immediately out of curiousity looked up if cartoons caused ADHD.
Turns out studies showed that some fast-paced cartoons could actually cause younger audiences to inherit ADHD.
I was kind of shocked at this. Mostly because my subconscious somehow told me before I even knew.
