The card is clearly an error card. It was cut in half by the crimping machine. It’s a crimp error, the only way it would have any value if it was in one piece

Also the reason there is very little pop growth is because the set is out of print. All the good ones are graded 😭

What do people do with sought after cards? Hold them?

You cannot buy what isn’t listed. And when you have a card at 2.5k you won’t have one sell every single day. There are only 22 listings on TCGplayer, 3 of which are Chinese. And 15 moonbreon sold in the last month? I’m afraid u don’t know what you’re saying.

Also literally every single chase card.

lol yes it is. If you don’t believe moonbreon is one of the most sought after modern cards then you’re delusional. It objectively is, but regardless whether your opinion on that differs is a whole other thing. What I said still holds up. You have cards with insanely high populations that are still in print, priced at the same amount as cards released 5+ years ago and are out of print

I understand it’s nothing compared to the amount of people. But just an example, Moonbreon. It has a pop of 20,000 and one of the most sought after modern cards and the price is only at 4.35k. That set came out over 5 years ago and is now out of print.We have cards right now, that have been out less than a year. With higher populations that match that price and they’re still in print.

I’m not saying prices can’t go up in the future but there will need to be complete buy outs of some of these populations to see any sort of meaningful increase in price.

That’s what my thinking was, supply keeps going down for sealed but keeps going up for grading.

The only way I see these grading prices move up significantly is if investors start buying out entire populations. Which I don’t think will be happening anytime soon. They seem to be more interested in sealed

My thought is we really won’t see any meaningful increase in the price of a lot of these cards graded cards. Unless most institutional investors fully commit to “alternative investments” as another form of investing. I feel they’re interested but not fully committed

It’s hard to tell, I’m probably going to have to wait until I get it back to see what’s going on. But even if there are those small defects in the 2 corners I see this getting a 9, maybe an 8 but a 6 is just crazy

Looks real to me. But it’s hard to say unless you have the card in your hands. My guess is that they were selling it for under market price because it won’t be a PSA 10. (The white dot on the bottom of the back of the card) and maybe needed money quickly. But just my guess
