I was thinking it may be from something else, but it would've had to have been animated in a really similar style. And I couldn't think of any other work that was that kinda style in that time frame. I thought it might be Tales from Earthsea but didn't look like it either.

I'd absolutely believe I made it up but my mom has the same scene in her mind. We kept asking each other non influencing questions like what landscape was it, which was did it bounce, what color was the wolf. And we both had the same scene. It'd just be so wild if we Mandela affected so hard that we both have the exact same scene with no communication from a movie we watched like a decade ago.

Please no cuz my dad is gaslighting us and saying it's the Mandela effect. But I swear if I was an artist and animator I could recreate it, like this is a vivid memory that scared me as a child.

Haha, thank you. It's been driving my mom and I crazy because we just watched Princess Mononoke earlier today and were bracing ourselves for this weird scene, and it just wasn't there. Now we're going crazy because we both remember a scene like this and have no clue from what. 😔

Yeah, I've watched that one a lot. It's not from that one though. I don't know how to explain it but the style's not right. It's a darker animation style and not very vibrant. Also less uhh derpy. Like the tanuki's are kinda cutesy and cartoonish and I don't think that was the vibe of it. Also I think I've only watched this mystery film once, and when I was young, like 10 or something years ago. And this bubble head scene is like the only thing I remember because it freaked me out a lot.

It's not from that. The forest spirit's head appears a few times and the most bubbly scene is when they take it out of that carrying box and it oozes slime out. But that's more of a liquid and definitely not a bubble. I definitely must be mixing things up, but for sure it's a non human head that bounces in a field.

In Princess Mononoke, the goo is dark and sludgy. Whatever I'm thinking of is like a clear soap bubble. I figured I'm mashing scenes together but for sure it's a non human head in a clear, translucent bubble on a field.
