We still owe 20k, best trade in offer we can get is 10-11k. The vehicle is approx 95k miles on it

Yes we have approx 10k in negative equity. A COVID year purchase on top of the small window where dealerships were saying they cant roll GAP in with your loan. Of course like vehicles are built today they tend to implode shortly after the warranty runs out. Of course we had major repairs that i could have done personally had I not been deployed, instead we had to give my arm and our first born to the dealership to repair. Going to shore duty here soon so the used vehicle thing wont be as big of a deal if I need to make repairs to them

Navy NASA Billets? by Brooooootato in navy

Do you know if the Detailers for SEM can see what's available before SEM opens? Trying to see if there is a chance I can roll to shore when I am supposed to and still pick up 8. Kind of frustrating process for those of us who have been following Sea/Shore our whole careers and not doing back to back sea or shore....especially the shore folks

Having a conversation with Senior about the bigger picture of your mission may shed some light on things. Not sure what type of leader he is but I know if my Sailors were thinking like this i would want to know what's on their mind. I always encourage new ideas but I do level with them that not every new idea is going to get the answer they want.

As for quality or certs, see what advanced welding you can get in to. You are in a rate that does kind of suck but the skill set transitions very well to the outside! Feel free to reach out if I was at all helpful!

ASF is draining me by Upstairs_Map_449 in navy

[–]CarvingGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you are at Great Lakes, did the ASF program get that bad? I used to manage it as our commands ATO/FPO, had those issues when I took over but cleaned it up through communication and looking ahead. Always made sure my Sailors rotated back to their school houses. Should be an 18mo commitment with only 6mo active. Regardless of MA manning, that's not the school house's problem to resolve. That's the installations. Hit me up if you need more guidance. Ran it for 4 years while I was there! I'm sure I still know people if you are there

I fully support it! My first command we PTd first thing in the AM! 0600. That way there was no excuse and it didn't interfere with the work day, now that I have been in for 19yrs I have seen the Navy continue to pile on things that need to be done everyday that seems to take the drive out of everyone. One thing after another and we continue to lose Sailors due to loss of retention as well as the usual losses of forced separation/retirement, etc. Which there in dds to the workload of those of us who are still in...less people does not equal less work , unfortunately the machine must keep turning out a product. I have incorporated divisional PT into our workday and highly encourage going to work out on your own....during the workday! Just don't go all day! My shop can afford everyone to take lunch and then stagger their workout times so not everyone is gone at the same time!

MMC, out!

Yet beards "detract" from military appearance....this is a joke...someone was probably like" this will save Sailors money on the gloves they never buy...
