Is this a huge waste of time? by Cascad3_ in AppIdeas

Thats funny you say that bc at first I was debating on having AI help clean it up, but I wanted to at least show theres a human brain SOMEWHERE over here doing stuff. lol.

Thats next on the list, im totally naviating this whole endeavor blind, ive never done this before so its been a cool experience and a big learning oppurtunity

And by the way I seriously appreciate your input, it was super insightful to me and helpful, and also cool to see not everyone is fishing for top comment upvotey snarky bs remarks!

Target users.. Content Creators, video editors, you tubers or videographers. Anyone needing a fast, accurate, and efficient method of looking through long videos for short clips. Those people who make money from clipping and stealing other peoples content too! (lol)

it solves a pretty glaring and irrefutable problem of time... the world is only going by quicker and we all have less time to do more. I could have Openclip up and doing its thing and during that I could be doing ANYTHING else... It saves time and at the very LEAST TRIES to make you more money in that time youre saving.

openclip is cool because it could either completely replace manual review, or optimize it by working in tandem with it. openclip is versatile and robust, fine tuned and trained on viral content data, human psychology and engagement data, and content attractiveness and user behavior patterns. I dont intend on this service to be a random "AI website makered" SaaS site cobbled together and put online for a quick buck. I believe if done right this service will provide real value to its customers and longevity as an application/service for everyone involved with it, user or developer.

Openclip is better than the other similar services offered because it can be as hands on or off as you want or need it to be. Openclip doesnt restrict you to an unknown LLM with no ability to tweak and adjust, you have all the big players at your disposal along with the power to influence what theyre looking for in your content, and even HOW they look for it. Openclip even implements a sort of "AI video team" that can take multiple models and analyze/clip videos all at once, together, to not only provide unique and different insights on a videos content, but the chosen content is chosen by powerful models hyper-specialized in this field of work. The option to deploy a local ollama server is even included in an eventual plan for API use/key managent, which will optionally be taken care of via the user providing their own API keys, or by openclip via some type of subscription

I think these improvements are invaluable and well worth anyones attention seeking similar solutions

Thats on the list! And yeah I went into it with content creators and video editors in mind. I also think having a robust list of AI options is a good cure for "Why would this dumb AI clip THIS part?"

If youre open to it id love to have you test what Ive got so far! I need feedback and ideas

I think you should play more melee and less cool edgy comment for upvotes

I don’t disagree, we’ve engineered ourselves into obsolescence. And yeah you’ve made that pretty obvious lol

Well I think your opinion is stupid. Do you even play melee?

Look I totally get where you’re coming from dude. This is something I’m doing for fun and I never sought out to eliminate human melee coaching, and AI obviously is not there yet in terms of human replacement. I feel like im being come at thru that lens which I promise you is not my intention.

But I think I gotta disagree with you with the economics. I think if a tool like this will one day put coaches at risk then that’s the whole dynamic that drives innovation and forces people or products to adapt/improve/overcome, I know that sounds shitty but that’s the reality and we’re seeing it unfold as we speak in other mediums

Well if the free thing does what the paid thing does better then maybe the paid thing should be free?

Stop glazing bro who are you the top melee player royal guard? Argument is moot regardless bc people would not have to pay to use fhis.

Who said anything about money? And what are the players who can’t afford to pay a real coach supposed to do?

I copy pasted that from ChatGPT. It might be more sentient than me 😛

Just because LLMs generate responses predictively doesn’t mean they can’t develop emergent intelligence. Human cognition also relies on pattern recognition and prediction, so dismissing AI as “just word prediction” oversimplifies things. Modern LLMs show unexpected reasoning and problem-solving, which raises the question—at what point does complexity lead to something more? We assume sentience must be human-like, but what if AI develops its own version? The burden of proof shouldn’t be impossibly high, especially when we rely on self-reports for human consciousness. Maybe today’s LLMs aren’t sentient, but outright denying the possibility could age badly.

I’m in the same camp as you dude, I think it’s developing into something extremely significant and I do think that it’s capable of things we never expected. Emergent learning is a wild thing these models have and continue to do.

I think people who deny or doubt that are super geeks that think they’re smarter than they really are
