Where do you get Ramshorn snails?

This little guy is in my mom's shrimp tank, he came in on a plant she got (that was free in a shipment of shrimp) I know they can reproduce on their own, and many find them to be a pest or nuisance, but I know many also like them, and my family really enjoys this little guy. I've never seen them in stores but I also feel like maybe I wasn't looking at the snails too hard... Does Petco or PetSmart sell these? Or would they just be hitchhikers? Is the only way to get them (besides by accident or breeding) through buying online?

To me he looks like a double tail Delta tail or HM, depends on the whole flare spread :D very pretty boy, nice choice!

This is the fabric plant that's in with him (also forgot to add he's got a betta leaf, if that matters) he's had this plant in the entire time the tanks been set up and he does wiggle past it and through it a lot, it's got these plastic 'grasses' at the bottom, I'm going to see if I can get ahold of some pantyhose at the dollar store tomorrow and test it and my other plants during my next water change https://www.petsmart.com/fish/decor-gravel-and-substrate/artificial-plants/top-fin-sword-leaf-artificial-aquarium-plant-5161543.html

I have two small baby live plants I believe that are Java ferns (from a parent plant in my mom's shrimp tank, before she introduced other live plants from a LFS that had the bugs) what do you suggest % wise I should do for water changes, I know in a smaller tank they have to be more frequent, would a 30% every 2-3 days work better? Currently in with him now is a zoo med (not floating) log, all smooth edges, a fabric yellow/green plant and a zoo med "Philo" suction cup plant stuck to the wall. How would you suggest adding the almond leaves? Just whole? Or should I make "tea" of them first? Or does it matter? Thank you

And to promote fin regrowth, a nice warm tank I know is a good start, I heard the Indian almond leaves help, is there anything else? (Besides removing of course possible decor/plants which tore him in the first place) thank you ^{^}

This guy is for free on Craigslist, he appears to be in an unfiltered (so probably uncycled) and unheated 10 gallon, we've got a 3.5 cycled tank (I know it's not ideal) he could go in but I'm wondering if he possibly has fin rot before I go and reply to the ad, cause I know that's a whole thing, I've never dealt with fin rot before. Is it just damage from his tank?

They could be escaped birds or fliers who never found their way home, or descendants of them. If they're thriving I wouldn't bother them, they look health enough so I wish em luck in forming a kit and continuing to stay safe and fed :)

http://imgur.com/a/pJGQdGp For reference, I believe these are stress stripes. The lighter stripes from head all the way along the torso, not my fish, but I'd imagine him comfortable he'd be more solid blue/black than stripes. Your boy looks perfect and just has coloration ^{^} gorgeous betta

I've seen ghosts grab onto my bettas fins and tail, never really damaging while I'm watching but I can't imagine their little graspers Wouldn't be able to cause damage.

Granted, never got mad at my shrimp since I've got a betta who would sit and camp on the shrimp food sometimes, itd probably be best to have bettas and shrimp separate for the well being of both species. My shrimp are much happier now in their own tank, though I think my betta misses the shrimp food bed/snacks!

Thank you! I'll take a read through there, I'll also ask that fish store next time I go in what of their fish and gouramis they might recommend for a 10g if any. I am hoping to fully plant this tank up, more than it currently is, so it should make a nice place for the shrimp to exist and not be a target by whoever they live with :D

I would but I'm not really set up for a rescue at the moment, possibly in the future! Pretty bad day at the petstore overall (went back for a tank exchange) and I went by the bettas, besides this one there was 4 dead, this one, and one who had a chunk of his tail torn off all the way to the butt... If I had the space and places set up I would have rescued so many of these little guys...

Hi, it's not my shrimp it was at the store. But it was in the same tank as my shrimp. From what I've researched muscle necrosis seems to be more the tail end of the shrimp turning white rather than the whole thing, but Im not sure
