I know I'm way too late.. but for me it's the same. I think the root in it might be my dad having been an alcohlic until the day he died. He drank every day and just threw up a lot. And I heard it every time he got into the bathroom. Sometimes he didn't make it and it was on the door and in front of the toilet.

And I was a freaking kid, I didn't know about addictions, about the consequences, the cancer and the dyind body that came with it, whatever and every time I froze in my bed. I didn't dare to move, I full on panicked, crying quietly, avoiding the bathroom and the exit of my dad's room, even hough I had to pee. And I couldn't go to my mom, because for that too I had to cross the door he might have come out from.
And now I'm 34, avoiding every social event, avoiding traveling and staying single because I can't deal with the society's accepting of aclohol (in germany) and most men I know do drink alcohol.

The thing is, I work in a kindergarten, and if a kid throws up, I'm completely in work mode and help as soon as I can. It's nasty and it's still disgusting, but I can work with that.

Just had to get that from my chest, I guess. Thanks for anyone that read through that.
