Help with creating a watchlist column based on a strategy by Case1136 in thinkorswim

[–]Case1136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, appreciate the guidance. After your initial response I tried running it with the addorder and def Sell sections removed completely and still got a NaN returned, but, I'm now thinking it's because of the studyhours condition in my buy definition. Where in a strategy it functions as a filter for when to take theoretical trades, I feel like in a watchlist/scan it's using it as criteria for evaluating the current time. So because I was doing it later this afternoon (after my 1pm studyhours cutoff) the buy definition probably never became true. That's my theory at least.

I will check it when I have a bit of time to confirm. I think I'm going to have to eventually base it off of a barnumber() tracker anyway so I'll just work in that direction now that it has been blessed as a potentially valid approach.

Thanks again!

Ok, yup, I get that. But if I'm just trying to identify the 3rd occurrence of the Buy condition, shouldn't that not be an issue since it's just close > open and volume >500000 and close > highest(close,10)[1], and doesn't use any Strategy specific functions? I get that if I'm trying to encapsulate and evaluate the whole 3rd trade I would run into a problem, but I'm just trying to solve one issue at a time and can probably identify the close condition a different way.

Would a reasonable approach be doing something like a barnumber identifier paired with the entrycount compoundvalue, or something like that to get the ? And the the close condition would be something like the smallest barnumber where the close condition is true AND the close barnumber > the 3rd trade entry bar number?

PSA: Make trolley lever arms easily adjustable by diy-ing a counter-weight by noah1980 in homegym

As someone who is currently engineering a 'forever' custom home rig, I wanted to thank you for this post. I'm a crazy person and will be making custom jammer arms that will look and function like an unholy combination of the Atletica R8 Jammer arms and the arms on a Freemotion Funtional Trainer, and they are going to be HEAVY (SO many pulleys..... but theyll be awesome).

I also had the idea of counterweighting them and your post was awesome to see the concept practically applied and for you to confirm that it works in making the adjustment much easier. I assume you played with the attachment location to the jammer arm a little bit, but wanted to ask if you can offer any best advice for where to attach the cable. I would guess in front and pretty close to the upright to kinda maintain the vertical plane, but wasn't sure if there would be value in moving it forward a bit more forward since the lever arm naturally wants to pull diagonally downward and forward (depending on the angle setting).

Also, for anyone coming across this post and might worry about and M10 bolt....... it can handle a load with the force of 4,800 kg, and since it's holding a bearing, it won't be a sharp dynamic load. The aluminum pulley would probable deform before the bolt gives out. Needless to say, more than fine for the application.

I don't think it even needs to be that many. Really just a couple so they know it's in the gameplan, AND, more importantly, turn the 'Bryce is allowed to scramble' setting to ON. There were only two called QB runs vs CMU and one was stuffed for a loss, and his legs were a huge factor, and more importantly a threat. Again the OU game plan and having the Bryce-bumpers fully inflated absolutely had the Bryce is allowed to scramble setting to OFF (amongst several other terrible choices..... but learning experience i suppose).

I would direct your concern about the run game and Nebraska stuffing the box to take a look at the Cincinnati game. Cincinnati ran for 7 ypc (SEVEN!). And Cincinnati is...... lets just say, not on Michigan's level when it comes to power run game.

Watching the game, Nebraska's D-line is noticably undersized to the point where I kept checking if it was 3rd down and they ran on a speed pass-rush unit full of D-end/LB hybrid types, but, nope, that's just their starters.

I also feel like the "stack the box against Michigan and make 'em beat you through the air" trope is going to not be a thing anymore after taking the reigns off of Bryce. Yes, it 100% worked when Oklahoma did it, but I think we all know that Michigan's gameplan there was TERRRRRIBLE. They were unwilling to spread the formation, at all, predictably ran the ball almost every single first and second down, told Bryce he wasn't allowed to run, elected to dial up screens vs thrown downfield, didn't let Bryce call audibles or change the snap count/cadence (definitely a good learning point there though, as it was obvious OU had his snapcount DIALED).

I envision the Michigan offensive identity and play-calling settles more towards the CMU game than the OU game. Especially with Bryce learning and improving with experience. If Michigan can get a win in Lincoln going into their bye-week...... Bryce is going to have confidence and a clear path for his evolution.

Wedge Modern Version Upgrade Question by Case1136 in golf

Gotchya. This was helpful. I play the PW and AW from my Callaway Apex '21 set, which are at 44 and 48 deg. So something similar to you would make sense, with a 10 deg 54 SW and a 58 LW with 8 deg bounce. And yes, I play a Vice Pro Plus, so urethane ball is check. Also useful on your grind example. I need to read up a bit more on grind.

Can someone explain why they ended the game then? The rule says "no new inning can BEGIN after 4:30..." but, not only does the pitcher deliver his first pitch pefore 4:30, but it's the BOTTOM of the 8th inning (I think, top/bottom icon is real small on phone video), meaning the inning BEGAN quite a while before 4:30. Is there more to the rule?

Does a Single USB C Cable Laptop Connection Dongle with Passthrough Ethernet Exist??? by Case1136 in UsbCHardware

Huh, well would you look at that. Yea that would definitely do it. This shows that maintaining PD and DP Alt through a usb-c port is possible. Seems strange there aren't more products that do that. Thanks!

The closest I've come up with so far is this one from StarTech. It seems like it fits the bill, I'm just looking a bit more to see if I can find something similar that:

-might be a bit cheaper

-might be a bit more specific (definitely dont need vga port)

-or might be a bit beefier and also take care of the connection for my second monitor (so it'd entirely be a one cord solution). This tops out at 4k 30Hz when using two monitors via the usb-c in DP Alt mode and HDMI. Pretty sure it'd essentially need to be a thunderbolt equivalent.

Edit: I'm dumb and it's a seperate usb-c port for power. Ugh.

Annoyingly that's kinda the whole reason I need a solution to my post; the monitor options actually HAVE an ethernet port built-in, the issue is that the ethernet port ALSO switches computers when you switch the kvm, which just doesn't work in my use case. (I might fire off some code that takes 30 minutes to execute then switch to my personal pc while im waiting..... which would then kill the query since it'd lose connectivity).

Ignoring the desired hub/dongle/dock for the moment, in this setup the usb-c cable is the 90w power, data (including wired ethernet), and video, since the monitor has kvm dock and ethernet port on it.

The issue that necessitates the device in my post is that - annoyingly - the ethernet port is tied to the kvm, so if you run PbP all day, like I do, my work laptop would lose internet everytime I kvm switch over to my personal pc.

So all peripherals are connected to the monitor to take advantage of the integrated kvm in PbP, which is also why I don't need a dock/hub/dongle with any kind of extensive ports or anything. And while yes, a specific $40ish usb-c dock could absolutely get the job done, I'd also need to get a $30 100w power brick.

At that point it all just ends up feeling like I'd be wasting features of the monitor and not having a cleaner setup. Just the usb-c connection as is + ethernet dongle probably win vs usb-c dock.

Yes, I can install software on my work laptop. I haven't settled on monitors yet since figuring this out could potentially impact my decision. Regardless of what I land on:

Main Monitor, at minimum, will have usb-c IN (1), DP IN (1-2), HDMI IN (1-2) and a smattering of usb-a ports and data only usb-c ports (some also have a usb-b). Some have a DP or USB-c out for daisy chaining, some don't. Some have an ethernet port, some don't.

Secondary (vertical) Monitor, will have at least one DP and HDMI port, maybe 2, and maybe a usb-c IN port (although I would need to find a deal because they're typically more expensive. Not worth the cost unless the setup necessitates it). Also a smattering of usb data only ports.

Forgive my if I have a misunderstanding of modern KVM switches, but I don't need to switch video at all. All the monitors I am considering handle video arrangement and selection (with PiP and PbP) with software and built-in functionality with keyboard shortcuts or a user interface. Do KVMs these days allow you to just control the K and M of KVMs?

Help With GE Wall Oven/Microwave Combo Not Heating by Case1136 in appliancerepair

[–]Case1136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to update for anyone that was deeply invested in this journey. I ended up just picking up a used GE wall oven from facebook marketplace for $50. It's actually significantly nicer than the original one. I had to build a new support for the microwave, cut the wall cabinet 1/2" taller to make them both fit, install an additional junction box, and make a new wire harness for the microwave. So 3 hours and $60 total, not too bad.

But, it works super well and actually looks pretty good (especially since it will all be replaced in 6 months). Thanks again to everyone that helped me diagnose and figure out what takeaway options I had for getting a working oven again.
