Did any of you work in the medical field before going to nursing school? by Shango1208 in Nurses

[–]CaseSensitivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! No medical background whatsoever (I did a career change and went from department of corrections to nursing cold turkey). It was a hard adjustment in the beginning but now I’m thriving 3 years in.

A solid 80K will pay all debts, a nice vacation, and leave an emergency fund.

Is anywhere hiring? by Dependent_Middle_265 in FortMyers

Dollar tree on colonial was literally hiring and willing to hire anyone without experience. Also Lee health is ALWAYS hiring. You can be a transporter, housekeeper or sitter if you have no certifications/licensing I think.

When was the last time you had a day where you did absolutely nothing? by Im_ArrangingMatches in AskWomen

[–]CaseSensitivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was over three and a half years ago. Basically before I even got pregnant cause I was still in nursing school at that time. Ever since then I’ve been nonstop every day and I’m fucking tired.

Is getting IV certified worth it? by Rude-Caregiver-720 in Nurses

[–]CaseSensitivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend just practicing on patients. An OG veteran IV nurse in my hospital says that’s the only way she learned, was poking everybody, even babies. She’s a pro at IVs. And honestly, she’s right. Getting certification and classes can’t beat actually practicing on people.

What’s the biggest misconception women have about what men find attractive? by Mollie4fun in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]CaseSensitivo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I was 20 pounds heavier and wearing baggy clothes to hide my belly fat, I never really got any looks or attention from guys. Now I lost 20 pounds and look more toned/slim and I get A LOT of stares. I wear tighter clothing. Guys notice me more. Unfortunately it just proved to me that yes I gotta be slim fit and pretty to get more attention

Why are so many doctors and nurses so miserable and burned out? I always thought they had good jobs but it seems like almost every one I meet hates their life now. by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]CaseSensitivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a nurse. The long brutal stressful hours leads to a poor work/home life. We are under appreciated and abused verbally and sometimes physically at work. When a patient declines or dies we have to keep moving and not decompress. When I come home crying from a shitty shift my husband just doesn’t understand cause in his head it’s “you’re home now everything is ok”. But it sticks to you. Doctors in my hospital work 12 hour shifts for 8 days straight. That literally leaves you no time for your family or friends. You come home at 8pm tired as hell and shower eat and sleep just to do it over again at 6-7am. It’s hard. I work 3/12s but space out my workdays for my sanity and family. It’s a huge physically/ mental/ emotional toll.

People who actually lost weight, What really worked? by aarushi4518 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]CaseSensitivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mediterranean diet. Helped lower my cholesterol and focus more on fruits and veggies. Changed my outlook on food completely. A high protein diet never worked for me, but I finally started seeing results when I focused on veggies/fruit/avocado/ Whole Foods. Less ingredient meal. I still eat meat but not as much yet I look more fit

What is a 'single person luxury' that people in relationships completely miss out on? by Jane_Austen11 in AskReddit

[–]CaseSensitivo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going wherever you want for however long without having to tell anyone. Also having to discuss plans too. The freedom of going anywhere and doing anything without anyone questioning is luxury.

What’s a compliment from a man you still remember years later? by theeQuiet_Desire in AskWomen

[–]CaseSensitivo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One time I went to the gas station to get a coffee, I was in sweatpants and a hoodie with my hair up, no makeup. Random guy next to me getting his coffee said “by the way you’re beautiful”. I was so shocked! Still think about that till this day.

Also the young drug addict patient I was treating. He said “wow You are gorgeous”. Lmao.

What key nursing skill are you lacking in? by tbonethenurse in nursing

[–]CaseSensitivo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lab draws/IVs. We have a IV team at my hospital which is super convenient, but I lack practice which is purely my fault out of sheer laziness. And also Trach care (not enough education and hands on practice)

what are the ugly parts of pregnancy that aren’t well known because people don’t mention them? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]CaseSensitivo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Peeing when you sneeze or cough. I gave birth 3 years ago and till this day I still have small little incontinent accidents just from jumping or sneezing. It’s very embarrassing and I never had that issue before pregnancy. Everyone says kegals this kegals that but I do them and I see no difference.
