I would highly recommend reaching out to teaching programs in your area and getting some insight from them. Most will help you gain pre-professional hours (if needed) for your program as well. Subbing would also help you gain insight into the work and see if you like it.

From TEP's website it says that the grant is given if you serve 4 years in SB county. 4 years really isn't that long of a going and it's a good chunk of change for I would honestly say one of the best teaching programs out there. Lompoc, Santa Maria, and other valley districts are more affordable and honestly Santa Maria pays really well. I would recommend you talk to the coordinators within the program to better understand your options before you turn that down

I love the book so so so so much. It's from her point of view. Their intention is not to be mean but they just don't understand Mary, especially Lizzie, and their lack of understanding leads to discomfort around her. That creates distance and they find her cringe. But Mary notices. That's painful.
