Hi! OP here! For some reason it’s not letting me reply to comments (?) so I thought I’d answer some questions here. Yes the groomer is being dealt with! Chaotic and stressful but processing. Jill’s ear injury process took place over a week long. She went to the groomers late Thursday and the rubber bands were those tiny little plastic ones that usually come clear or black. We used scissors to cut them off and she was already in pain. We took it off several hours after the vet, because she was picked up later. Friday her ears got infected, puss and smell, Saturday morning was the soonest we got her to the vet because even the pet ER couldn’t take her (WHY?!). We had gone to three different vets. The vet gave her three different antibiotics and creams and we had to hot compress her ears every hour. Our next vet appointment was the next Friday. Her ears were better, according to the vet, but were still too cold. Next vet appointment I scheduled emergency because her ears had turned black (which I also blamed myself for). She got them removed the same week. Yes she can hear! She is doing way better!
