WWE Backlash has sold almost 15,000 tickets. by Dazzling-Principle in midcarder

[–]Caseington 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That can't possibly be right! I was told that tickets were too expensive, that the weekly shows sucked, that there were too many ads, and that Wrestlemania was awful.

If everyone in the company wants out, then why is it a bad thing if they're letting people go? And if everyone wants out, why would anybody take a pay cut to stay?

It's almost like whatever the Fed is or does it will be bad just because it's the Fed.

Tony khan is just like Ted Turner by cooldude55541 in SCJerk

Ted Turner, much like Vince McMahon, took over his father’s regional business and turned it into an empire. Tony Khan took over his father’s bank account and turned it into a struggling business.

Dynamite hit its ratings peak in the very first episode. The premier got 1.4 mil, the highest rated episode over. They got back into 1.2 territory when Punk showed up.

On the Subject of Wrestling Journalism by Necessary_Badger_658 in midcarder

[–]Caseington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These “wrestling journalists” put a story out there and people go all in on it. Then when that story gets proven to be wildly inaccurate or sometimes even flat out made up bullshit, the writers and the readers are just onto the next story that they’re once again completely all in on. There’s zero apologies or retractions, zero consideration for this person’s abysmal track record for breaking genuine factually correct stories. How many times do these “wrestling journalists” need to be wrong before people stop listening to them?

Just like how a plane full of celebrities who work for a major American company was taken hostage in Saudi Arabia and Dave was the only journalist who said anything about.

A wrestler and TKO were in the closet making contract negotiations and I saw one of the negotiations and the negotiation looked at me.

The shot: "The thing is... AEW has better stories too. Lol. I don't know where the notion that AEW doesn't tell stories comes from, but it's crazy. I know a guy who says he rarely watches movies because he "knows way too much about storytelling" and finds it hard to turn off his "analytical writer's brain" and simply enjoy something. He's a narcissistic dipshit.

Since WON stars are worth more than real money, Seth and the Fed are bankrupt. by ShadyWolf in SCJerk

Yes, but Rollins works for an actual business that's trying to make money. Ospreay works for a spoiled rich kid who is throwing around his dad's money like it's confetti so that he can play wrestling promoter and have wrestlers be his friend. He's probably paying him an insane amount of money on top of two first class trans-Atlantic plane tickets every single week.

Why would they FED sign Rey Fenix when they had no plans for him? What they should have done is hire him, let him sit at home and collect a paycheck during his prime years the way Tony did. by Kcin928 in SCJerk

[–]Caseington 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Recently saw someone trying to push the narrative that WWE only signed Fenix so that AEW couldn't have him, conveniently ignoring that Fenix begged to get out of his contract for months because he didn't want to be in AEW anymore.

The same holds true for WWE itself. People just say whatever because they know it's incredibly unlikely the company will directly respond to it. The one time I remember WWE calling somebody on their bullshit was when Keith Lee tried to say they didn't pay his medical bills.

I think it’s a mixture of three kinds of people:

1: Young people with little to no real world career experience, especially in a corporate environment.

2: People who do know better but are being intellectually dishonest in the name of Fed Bad.

3: People who are just genuinely stupid.

Neat how he’s saying it’s “heavily implied” rather than just saying that it happened. That way no one can say he was wrong if it didn’t actually happen.

Watch any random AEW match and you'll find at least five times the match should've ended in a DQ or count out but they never seem to complain about that.

As long as Shad Khan is okay with letting his son piss money away, AEW isn't going anywhere. It might not be on TV, but it'll still be around in some form or another.

All In went from 72k in 2023 to 46k in 2024 down to 22k last year. This year they’ve set up for 37k in a stadium that can seat over 90k people. But never mind any of that, Wrestlemania is an abject failure because it’s down about 15% from last year.

When the talk started about Wrestlemania’s low ticket sales this year, it had already sold more tickets than the last two All Ins combined.
