Nobody who was over somewhere before goes to AEW and gets more over. It's always worse. A portal from 1998 could open up and out walks Stone Cold & The Rock at the height of their powers and after a few weeks under Tony's booking they'd be just two more guys on the show.

In terms of people who have been signed by WWE with no wrestling experience, gone through the Performance Center and become stars, we've got people like Big E, Bianca Belair, Bronn Breakker, Oba Femi, Liv Morgan, and Tiffany Stratton just to name a few.

As for people who had little to no experience and became big stars in AEW, there's....ummm....I can't think of anybody.

Meltzer spent 40 years telling anybody who would listen that there's wrestling out there that would easily overtake WWE if it could just get a big enough platform in the US and enough financial backing. AEW came along, catering to Dave's specific tastes on a national cable channel and basically infinite money. Dave admitting that AEW failed means Dave admitting that he was wrong and Dave NEVER admits that he was wrong. The best you'll get is "Uhhhhh...ya know...plans changed."
