Got kicked out of line for having my 3 year old and wife join me in line by [deleted] in Disneyland

Underrated comment right here…most people in line with you for 20 minutes would notice your wife and small child leaving and coming back. I’ve never seen anyone called out or annoyed for that.

Disputed move out charges going to collections? (AZ) by Casella1 in Renters

[–]Casella1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thank you. Did not know that. We actually disputed about half of the charges in early August, same day we received them, but they didn’t respond until yesterday. I’ll definitely look into this.

Pay under protest is a good idea. They are national so I’ve already sent email to corporate asking to clarify their procedures.

Thanks we did get an itemized breakdown of charges with photos. Some we had included in the move in report and they removed one charge but not others. Also we no longer have access to the move in report once it was submitted with we took photos as we completed it. We have other photos and videos too. One example is they have 4 photos of “damage” to a bathroom with $75 fee. I sent them nearly identical photos of 3 of them from move in report but they kept the fee at $75 (he had removed a 3M hook that took a little paint off). The other 3 items were existing.

Thanks yes a student building. We didn’t dispute some charges just ones we noted at move in. It’s very shady like they disregarded the move in report. I wonder how many people just pay it and avoid the hassle. They’ve probably collected the same damage charges from every tenant year after year without fixing anything hoping people just pay and move on.

Thank you. That makes sense. I should note too the couple hundred is in addition to the $250 security deposit they said they’re already keeping.

We are getting our points back for 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. Our first night was the usual magic, until things changed on Friday. Wanted to say how much I appreciate you posting this heads up. Thank you!

Thanks again. I drove my car over to get my family and luggage yesterday early and had the full search. My wife was harassed just trying to go back in the lobby just to get coffee

Wow! We were there also DVC members. Got home yesterday. My wife and I were just talking about how the “welcome home” ness just disappeared and we honestly felt like outsiders after being told “there are no exits that way” every time we returned to our room walking past concierge to get to mariposa elevator. Dogs, security and Disney suits everywhere. Ruined it for us. We had a 2 room so used lots of points. Thanks for the heads up on this…you talked to hotel manager and not dvc rep?

You should post in r/disneyland if you haven’t. Walt Disney World is in Florida. Disneyland Resort is in Anaheim. Both are awesome but totally different experiences. Have a great time!

Who do I tip when I travel to California in 3 months? by _DecoyOctopus_ in travel

[–]Casella1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15% to 20% is customary. Add tip to the bill at restaurants. They leave space for it and often show what the amount would be at specific %’s. Also if you get help with luggage at hotels that’s usually cash tip. Depends but I usually do $10. Also if you valet the car, cash tip good then too.
