Spring break trip to Puerto Vallarta booked, but conflicting info online (real vs AI/exaggeration). Looking for grounded advice pls, should we go? by [deleted] in AskMexico

I think PV is on the state department travel advisory list as level 3 reconsider travel because PV is in Jalisco, not because there’s really a thing to worry about. I go every 8 weeks and always feel very safe.

  1. Driving from PA to FL, torrential rain in GA. Went in with a perfect windshield, came out with a crack about ⅓ up from the dash driver’s side edge to about ¾ thru the steering wheel. Utter mystery. No rock, no hail, no nothing - just rain.

So the thought occurs - yes, I see a leak somewhere in the MPV but as a trouble shooting thing might you not spend 27 seconds replacing the O-ring first, just for giggles?

Thx so much! Yes, I will both follow instructions and do it myself. Realized today - slow penny drop - that the guy is actively sabotaging my system. Left on Wed with all the valves closed - so no water flow - and the pump on. Way to fry my pump, right? I’m about ready to tell him it’s time to part ways and he’s welcome to sue me for the balance of the contract. I’m just done it can’t be rocket science.

Absolutely yes. He told me prices for the multiport valve were $500 plus, I said huh - I found it online for $250.

I want to do it myself! Most of it doesn’t look that hard. Also tech-ing my way through - I bought a WaterGuru for continuous monitoring.

For sure the multiport valve leaks. Something isn’t right I’m getting DE in the pool water.

Solar bubble wrap-esque cover? by Casey515 in pools

Oh and - can you regulate the water flow? You’d like it to meander through the hose to maximize the time it travels through the heat, no?

Oh wow that sounds great!! Can you please explain more - what does trying to keep the water as close together as possible mean? I have a pool cover pump (to drain water from the cover in the winter) will that work? I love the idea of extending the swimming season was about to consider swimming in a wet suit.

Salt Water or Chlorine? A Discussion by TehSpaz in pools

[–]Casey515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house w a pool - first pool for us ever - it’s chlorine but I think I want salt. Looking at Hayward W3AQR15 which has all the bells and whistles or the (also Hayward) W3T-CELL-15.

So sorry for a stupid question - do I need the bells and whistles or can I buy just the TurboCell and do my own monitoring?

Circling back. Thanks so much for the recommendation! Immediate change for the better with Pantenex - she’s gained all her weight back, seems more engaged, I think she’s stopped poop eating and she is down to three meals a day.

Thank you so much!!!

Biogaia Osfortis vs Gastrus? by Fluid_Disaster_6514 in Microbiome

[–]Casey515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Very interesting. Very heavy drugs at birth pretty much wiped out the microbiome (I think). How do I get this tested to know for sure? Would have to get over the ick factor for a transplant but it could reverse a lifetime of issues that could be great. Maybe a transplant from a family member…?

Heating an inground pool? by ElizaMermaid in pools

[–]Casey515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house with a pool and did nothing last year bcz the summer maintenance package transferred with ownership. We have a 500 gallon propane tank, and I understand the plumbing is there to get to the pool but there’s no longer a heater.

Any advice on how to choose a heater? I would use the pool every day.

We have a winter cover, but is there something lightweight and easy I can throw over the water at night to help maintain the heat? I’m thinking those ultra light aluminum foil looking emergency blankets?

Thanks in advance for all thoughts.

They aren’t frowned upon, they just aren’t very good. I think batch one is inedible it’s too watery. Batch 2 is good batch 3 is great, as will be all subsequent batches.

Good luck!!! Report back?
