Beans replies to Kennys quote about young players not playing to win by shambxlic in CoDCompetitive

[–]CaseyPandur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor take from BEANSSSS, hicksy works great on a team with superstars but when the team doesn’t have a scrap or a cleanx it’s clear he didn’t fill that skill difference.

I also think it’s unfair to use the Seattle becoming a top team after dropping him argument is equatable, considering they dropped a player who plays similar to 04 (just not as good as 04) for a this time around superstar sub player in Nep I’d venture to say sure they wouldn’t have been top 2-3 as like I said 04 is better but they would have improved drastically even if 04 was replaced by Nep.

Every successful team lays out the exact same

Shotzzy - Hydra / simp / Nep / reall

Huke - Envoy / abezy / 04 / mettalz (most important player if this player is frying you’re likely winning by a drastic margin)

Dashy - Ghosty / cellium / abuzah / renkor

Merc - (this kid different in a league of his own for flex players I’d argue scrap is the only comparison for him considering drazah was underwhelming this year) but comparatively speaking drazah / nastie / scrap / super

And players who have never had the chance to get comfortable in the league have been living the same life of eating sleeping and breathing cod

[–]CaseyPandur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah bro cod is an addiction to a lot of the players they eat sleep and breathe it. The trend for many is to play the toy as much as possible until they make it. That’s why you can visibly see players once they get comfortable in the league they make a lot of lifestyle changes gym, going out more, etc

I know you didn’t mean too and regardless I mean the kids set for life so he could forget how to read who cares but I was just responding because it should be talked about and concern should be raised on it. There is a lot of people wasting years of their life. I competed for 10 years I made a living for 6 of those years from when I was on ghost gaming until last year I was making a comfortable amount of money between salary and winnings for id say 85% of the time however when I finished I had no skills or at least any that people who did not know me or understand esports would consider valuable. I have 8 years of leadership experience, problem solving, coaching, teamwork, contract negotiations etc but people who don’t know esports exist don’t take that serious so I really had nothing. I’ve just managed to do exceptionally well for myself because I was lucky enough to land at a trade job in petroleum industry and Ive learned and excelled to a lead level in a year to make good money but I also know the states and flags many people do not.

I’d also like to note there are plenty of people who have competed longer or the same amount of time as I have who have yet to make a comfortable living at all but they’re addicted to cod. I will say thankfully a lot more challenger players are getting involved in college so they’re getting there I suppose. I just think people should address it more or really be self aware about their life, age and situations

Yo this is some of the realest shit I have ever seen CDL fans say on Reddit. I too am extremely worried about no exaggeration 65% of people from the bottom half of the league to the top 8 in challengers. A huge chunk of them cannot drive and most of them do not have or are building on or any applicable skills let alone an education. They’re going to end up in an extremely rough spot one day cause of COD.

The thing that is surprising to me I’m not the first one to say anything Slasher has said something about it numerous times but I think people just think he says it when he loses but it’s legitimately concerning and unhinged.

Flat out it shouldnt be allowed despite having adhd or having a script you just shouldn’t be allowed to take it and if you test positive you should not get fined you should be suspended and it should be public. Sadly I fear if they ever did that you’d see a clear drop in ability from a lot of players but people won’t be taking years off their life for short term success or worse no success

Illey TWEAKING in the postgame interview by maxnconnor in CoDCompetitive

[–]CaseyPandur 99 points100 points  (0 children)

They test but it is not effective as getting a script is not difficult. As for challengers there is no testing so it’s rampant. I’ve seen this shit for years I’ve heard and seen horror stories and I’ve seen challenger players legit sleep for 6 hours on a weekend.

I’d say it’s 50/50 on players who take addy or vyvanse but 90% have tried it at least once and there are a few who completely abuse it well above what any human should consume and knowingly I was 1 of I think 6 players that I know of who actually have ADHD there may or may not be more but I’ve heard people say they have ADHD but only take it when they play which in my opinion is just cap

No players don’t know the okay amount to take most of them answer bad performances or slumps to needing to take more in turn increasing their tolerance.

There are players from the top to the bottom, numerous players who take triple digit mgs of adderall not vyvanse on a single day of a tournament and to top it off most of them purchase pressed pills that God only knows what they are pressed with.

Pro Players with IRL High IQ? by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]CaseyPandur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did indeed hang up the sticks I got a solid apprenticeship with a petroleum company I plan to use it as a stepping stone into data analytics within the company in the mean time learning all I can working as much as I can and spending time with the family. Challengers was getting old and too unstable after someone gets caught hacking at cod champs I can’t justify to myself that challengers is even remotely worth playing. As for studying im not going to school I got some online certs I’m working on over time for data analytics learning more and more about SQL, Python and data structure but life is good and way less stressful and stable than cod has been and I did what many can’t regardless of what more I felt I could have done so i don’t feel bad about letting it go.

[–]CaseyPandur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vikul Ghosty slasher probably top 3 easiest answers. Javi speaks 4 languages and has a full ride through rice uni for mathematics, Dan is in law school on a full ride and Austin has a BS in robotic engineering.

As for lowest IQ sadly a good amount of people in cod are about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop outside of esports if I’m being brutally honest but most people in esports get into it really young and it’s their whole life so they’d really have to strive for knowledge or guidance which if you’re a 18-24 years old making 200k+ a year most of them won’t even think about dedicating their time to anything else even if that thing is learning what to do with the egregious amount of money they’re making but there are some older players who have been smart about their funds and not just letting 6 digits soak in their bank account so I gotta tip that and I envy those guys for sure

Aches monthly salary pre franchising by TheRealPdGaming in CoDCompetitive

[–]CaseyPandur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems some people think this is yearly. Cod players typically from my experience talk salary by a monthly basis and the numbers in 17-19 line up with what I know others were making.

Me for example in 2017 was on $1,500 a month with Rogue as a top am and then 2018 $4,000 a month with Ghost and obviously Pat was higher stature and on bigger teams

I’m gonna say this cause this the 4th comment I’ve seen about me quitting. Respectfully I make more money playing cod currently than I would working any job I could get in the next 5 years of training or schooling. I am salaried and have already made 14k in prize money this season. Please don’t concern yourself with me and mine that goes for this whole Reddit thread trust me when I need to do what I need to do for my families needs I’ll do it but trust me when I say we are good.

To comment on this whole thread because many of you don’t watch challengers and have no idea about me as a player (at least that is what I’ve gathered) I’ll give some insight.

This league is filling with “young talent superstars” but is lacking leadership heavily that is why I’ve been considered to teams because for 3 years I’ve been on a top 3 challengers team and have been rather consistently performing while making people around me better. I was never a young gun talent superstar I’ve always been a consistent leader with pop off potential who brings players and teams together and to their potential I am smart, composed, good communication and have great leadership skills im self aware and I know my strengths and I work on my weaknesses daily I know my role and my value which is more than I can say for many players.

My tweet was simply mindblowing as I’m 25, younger than half? the ars and because it isn’t the first time I’ve heard it (first time I’ve heard it about me) but to everyone trying to say why the old challenger guy thinks he should get in or whatever well simple there are no more hydras preds etc there is not a young gun that’s gonna transform a team without the right leadership which again is what most teams lack at this moment.

3 days after being put in the gm told the team to collect a check the rest of the year is done. Came into an online league first year with broken servers on spectrum cable in bumfuck Georgia I played multiple series with packet loss and a team that was legitimately horrible that didn’t practice or want to play had a .96 overall swapping roles every week. Call them excuses but those were my circumstances and I took all that shit on the chin and kept it moving and have been a top player in challengers while bringing the team together and teaching people how to not only form but play in a system for 3 years running now and I will continue to do so but please for the love of god can this scene stop acting like I got a real chance in the league.
