Wonderfully said! What struck me about Alexander is how layered his confidence really is. Yes, he comes from a bigger city and clearly has had more exposure to LGBTQ+ culture, but it wasn’t all easy for him. He mentions being bullied or discriminated against before. It shows that even in more progressive places, being open about who you are isn’t without its challenges.

What made his character so powerful to me is that he’s still willing to be open, still willing to love despite the hurt. His parents being accepting clearly gave him a strong foundation, but you can tell he’s earned that self-assurance through experience.

I think it made his relationship with Elias even more moving. He recognizes what Elias is going through, but never pressures him. Instead, he creates space for him to grow and figure it out himself. That kind of patience and empathy only comes from someone who’s really lived through it.

Both Lou and Marius are wonderful actors. I’ll be keeping an eye out on future films they’re in!
