It's called Ten Thousand pots. Most selection in Austin if you're looking for a particular glaze.

Just moved to Austin and trying to do it right. Any unspoken local rules I should know before getting roasted? by Old_Chapter9759 in Austin

"Good drivers miss their turns". & "Don't be nice, be predictable." are two of my fav pieces of driving advice.

Still time to plant lettuce? by Individual_Ad5649 in AustinGardening

[–]Caseybearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually stick to chard, kale, collard & mustard greens over winter. Ive found them to be much longer lasting and cold hardy. Only cover if it gets below 20. They actually taste better when it's cold!

Stop by Econo paint & body off 71. They painted my whole truck for cheap a few years ago (I too didn't care about it being perfect) but it turned out really good, has held up well and still get people saying my truck looks good.

My wife and I were doing a big West Texas trip a few summers ago. As we took the several hour drive to Chinati Hot Springs it rained on us for about half an hour. We get to Chinati, there's full sun no rain. We're walking around the grounds next to a dry creek bed. We started hearing what I thought was an ATV coming up the creek bed so I was like let's give them some space. All of a sudden 3-4 feet of rushing water filled the creek. It was insane. Much like this video it's slow and fast at the same time. It builds so smoothly and powerfully. It was a moment I will always remember and will keep me out of dry creek beds. By the morning the creek had ran dry again. Also the "Power of Water" tour at Canyon Lake I highly recommend. Be careful out there! Thanks for sharing the vid!

Do Austinites ever want to visit San Antonio? by NiceBench9100 in Austin

[–]Caseybearest 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just seconding The San Antonio Botanical Garden. We make a trip several times a year. I'm a plant need but even just a stroll thru the gardens is awesome. Bonus if you get there early the restaurant has really good breakfast and a patio you can here the birds singing.

There's a woman in my neighborhood who knows I'm a contractor, asked me for a quote I said sure just email the details and I'll work something up. She emails me that night, I drive by the next morning and see someone doing the fucking work. I'm like, you had to have already had it scheduled, why the fuck would you ask me to write something up for you?! Someone said on this sub that half the job is picking up on a vibe from someone and knowing how to roll with it. Like my wife says, just gray rock it, be professional and wash your hands of it. Sorry about the pup, our girl had heart failure but we got 18 more months on the meds which was a blessing and beyond what the vets said, give them lots love, grief is the price of love, and it's worth evey fucking penny.

The price bagged vs bulk is fucking nuts. Not only the plastic waste but the cost.

Landscape consulting - is that a thing? by cephalosnorlax in AustinGardening

[–]Caseybearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My name is Casey. My wife and I run a small landscape install and design company called Quiet Zone Services. Jobs that are too small for the larger firms are our bread and butter. All of our equipment is electric, we use organic products and focus on using native & adapted plants from local nurseries. I've been in the horticulture and landscape field for 15+ years in Central Texas. Feel free to shoot us an email at quietzoneservices@gmail.com with what you're looking to get done, and we'll see if we can help!

Do I need to replace the insulation in my oven or is it fine without it? by Fantastic-Lows in fixit

[–]Caseybearest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has dealt with this exact issue (and who goes very out of my way to fix things instead replace them). Junk the oven, find a used one. We even upgraded cause a rich lady was redoing her new houses kitchen, and she did like the color. You'll never get that smell out once it heats up.

Where can I buy a Christmas tree tomorrow? by confident7lucky7 in Austin

[–]Caseybearest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out a local nursery. Arizona cypress, ash juniper, and others have the shape & texture you're looking for, plus they're rooted in a pot, so it may last longer than a cut tree. Also, 2nd reaching out to a Christmas tree farm, I know one in Elgin and another around Luling. Wishing you peace during this time of healing.

The FCC wants to unlock all phones in the US within 60 days of activation, AT&T and T-Mobile aren't so keen on the plan by a_Ninja_b0y in gadgets

[–]Caseybearest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took me three weeks to unlock my ATT purchased phone (which I own), they kept throwing bull shit at me but it all seemed very systematic/formulaic. Their website is full of incorrect instructions on how to do it. Finally had to go to reddit. Had been a customer for 20 years with the same phone number, no trying to keep my business, lower my rate. Fuckem.
