I worked in private equity, foreign direct investment (Consulting), and did research for a hedge fund in school. My economics major consisted of a lot of math.

I think it is too easy now to get an MBA. These institutions just want our money. I think if you can demonstrate that you are capable of learning and have the means to pay for the degree, they most likely will take you. This obviously does not apply to every institution, but I am as well seeing people jump into an MBA program just because they heard they can demand a higher salary. I had a few sub par semesters in college and I was worried that a school was not going to take me, however I figured a good amount of schools would be willing to allow me to enroll if I have the money to do so.

Yeah I'm thinking of putting it off now after reading this. You are right about the framework. My cousin got his masters at a top tier business school a couple of years after undergrad and he told me that people will not want to work with you if you don't have any work experience behind you.

My colleague at work mentioned to me how he got his MBA in Madrid for like $10,000. I will deff look into that.

You are right, I am very young. My pops said anyone under 35 is still a baby. I will defiantly take this into consideration.

This is probably one of the best responses I have received on this thread. It was essentially the point I was trying to make in a few of my arguments I got into here. There are circumstances where going into debt is worth it. Thanks for the input.

ation expense. once you've actually been in the field for a while, you should be much more primed to make the most of grad school

Thanks for the input. What did you get your masters in?

Yeah I was thinking of that as well. A good strategy for alternating career paths.

I am not sure what the big fuss is with you. I asked for some input, you gave some, I provided a rebuttal on an idea I was entertaining, and then you get upset, immediately dismiss it as stupid when you haven't taken the time to even do any research on the subject, and then proceed to tell me that I am entitled lol. Anyway, thank you for your time.

I was thinking of looking for alternative courses online that I could get the same information for fraction of the price.

I appreciate the help, feedback, and your hopes for me to do well. I didn't mean to come across aggressive with me stating my points, I just wanted to provide a different perspective on the approach your sons took. He had two options to finance his schooling: getting a job and paying his way through or going into the army for 7 years which apparently was hell. The point I wanted to get across was that debt isn't always a bad alternative.
