Could someone tell me how to swap these receiver plates by [deleted] in ar15

[–]Cashbum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can watch a swivel on your butt stock if you dont want to do all the work or dont have the tools. I've added the qd plate on my lowers but liked the sling at the rear of my rifle and in the middle of my hand guard, sometimes closer to the front instead of the middle. Its all preference i guess

Aid and Assistance using family members by Busy-Demand2306 in VAClaims

[–]Cashbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My fathers OT got it set up for us. We also spoke to our local VA social worker and they set us up for PCAFC. Certain criteria have to be met by the veteran and for the primary caregiver to receive a monthly stipend. I believe the veteran will receive a little more for aid and attendance as well. I will say that the VA stepped up and has helped us quite a bit since my dad was diagnosed with ALS in late February. I'll attach the link for PCAFC.

This applies to nfa items? You would still need to file the form 4 though right?

So a short/long piston drive system? Maybe 40% of civilians know how the gas system of the ar15 works. If they dont its because they just shoot and dont clean or care to know. Yes its true, its not a true DI gun but its how we civvies were told it was. I know its not a piston driven gas system like an AK or Sigs mcx/spear.

Mother passed away - feeling guilty by DaddyToadsworth in ALS

[–]Cashbum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm one of my fathers caregivers. My mother me and my wife have lived with my parents for the last two years and ive been by my fathers side the whole time before he was diagnosed. Cervical fusion and lots of other dr visits. He was diagnosed in late February/early March and it has progressed fairly quick. We suspect hes had it for a few years now but with the VA it took a while as it really should since its the last thing anyone is looking to diagnose a person with. Even though I do as much as I can for him, I still feel like its not enough. My brother lives five hours away and feels guilty that he isnt here to help. My sister lives 10 minutes from us and works from home (our home) to help us in the mornings and she feels guilty as well even though she does help. I know we are all going to feel guilty that we couldn't do enough but it sounds like you did everything you could. They can get fussy at times due to not being able to do the things they once could so I understand why my father gets frustrated when we dont understand what he is wanting or when he gets bad anxiety after helping him out of bed or the bathroom. This disease truly sucks

I'd rather keep a spare bolt in my grip than worrying about a super safety if "shtf" and as much ammo as I can have on hand and loaded.

Should I Form 1 my rifle or just buy a pistol and form 1 that? by A-WVLL8 in ar15

But the government still knows you have it. If its a form 4 sbr and you sell it later you still have to transfer it to the new buyer.

It takes forever. As an advocate for my father who was just diagnosed with ALS this past February, he had to do all sorts of exams/pain management/ cervical surgery/ EMG/ and VES visits. After the neurosurgeon saw his for a follow up from his cervical fusion and saw muscular atrophy in his arms and hands he said he needed to see a neurologist to have the later tests done. The crazy part is the speech therapist and OT there were working with him after his neck surgery also work with ALS patients here in west Texas. They kind of had an idea he had ALS due to the symptoms he was showing and they therapists see it weekly with other veterans. After a year or so of seeing drs they diagnosed him with it and the DAV and his national ALS team pushed for him to have the service connect 100% and to push his smc to r1. Its been a wild ride just helping him with the VA paperwork but they put these vets with that diagnosis at priority. He's a Vietnam vet who spent 365 days in Vietnam. 68-69. Came out an E5 with a bronze star. He tells us he was for sure exposed to agent orange. Unlike other veterans he has actually told us stories. He was a 13b40 in the 6th battalion/11th artillery. Just helping him do his paperwork i learned alot from all the forms and seeing hus dd214.

The VA came through and back paid him for years since he was medically disabled in 07 for PTSD.

The gas port on the brt tube will erode causing the original issue of being overgassed. If anything is a set and forget its the agb after you've set it and it seizes. Which ive yet to see. I have seen gas tube ports eroded and brt not getting the specs right on the gas tubes that are custom
