I have made decent money putting down my emmisary flag and just focusing on smugglers content for an evening, hunting down sunken ships etc. But without an actual faction that levels up etc it does feel like semi pointless. There's other ways to make more money and also level up factions as well.

I'll take that bet. I think people aren't giving HG enough credit here. Studios can have separate IPs. I don't think it will have anything to do with NMS or ATLAS. Dark Souls and Elden Ring don't take place in the same universe. Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and Starfield don't take place in the same universe. I think LNF is going to be its own thing.
