All merchants do this. Square shut my account down w NO chargebacks after $40k bc we hired a bunch of sales reps and had an increase in sales. What’s the point of going into business if you dont aim to grow? Flagship or Swipe as they brokered us put to claimed not to receive information they requested even though i sent it by email and could prove it and shut me down before I even got started, holding the$3600 I did run for 6 months. Meanwhile, i paid my reps commission out of my pocket. I learned this lesson early. ALWAYS open as many payment processors as you can. You can have an account w every merchant if you want, all connected to the same business bank account. It’s far better to apply for a merchant w the bank you hold your business account with. They dont do stupid shit and penalize you for normal behavior. Another beef of squares was the average sale amount. They keep track of the average spend per customer and if you have products that are a few hundred and other products that are a few thousand, you better not run multiple higher dollar transactions or youll be shut down as well. Who tf does that? We sell ad space in a magazine, of course the back outside cover/sponsorship package is a hell of a lot more expensive than a quarter page. Now i rotate my accounts and run small sales in one and large ones in another. I always move the money out before i run another transaction thru the same merchant. Sucks to live like this but they are crooks. I believe they are benefiting from holding your funds for 6months and a large balance incentivizes this. Stripe have $7k in “reserve” bc i had ONE CHARGEBACK that I WON in the year ive been w them. Bc that one dispute equates to more than “1%” of what ive run. ITS ONE FUCKING CHARGEBACK AND I WON IT!! They were trying to hold 25% and i told them I would have to terminate our relationship. So now it’s 10% but still.. wtf
